Question about shoes....

My fiance & I are going on our first cruise & I have no idea as to what type of shoe to wear on formal night! :confused: Do people wear heels or do they tend to stick more to flats?

I always wear heels! But I am sure you can find some dressier flats if that is what you prefer!

I'd say that most ladies wear heels. Unless you're in bad weather, the ship really doesn't rock that much. However, if you're more comfortable in flats, then go for it!

On a few cruises of our cruises, Captains have cancelled formal night during the afternoon because of rough seas. He knew many of he ladies would wear high heels on formal night and he didn't want us walking around on the rocking ship in heels. He took no chances and just cancelled formal.... GREAT idea as he was right. :o

 

I sometimes wear a silk pump/peep toe but most often in the Caribbean, I wear a strappy sandal heel.

I always wear heels, my winter boots have heels. :D

 

I've never really had a problem cruising with heels on. I'm sure you will be fine, take some flats just in case.

I love my heels but there are some mid sized heels that may be better if you are concerned about slipping because sometimes its a good walk between your cabin and the dining room.

Heels, too. Just dressier than flatter shoes! And, they make your legs and butt look good!

Heels! I bring two types, wedges for really rough seas and stiletto's for calm or mildly rough seas. Either way I just get my sea legs ready to take whatever rocking and rolling might happen that I have to adjust for when walking.

This is just a guys's opinion but wear whatever you want except for sneakers or flipflops. After all, they are just shoes.

Ha Ha! No, shoes can make or break the outfit! I was thinking about bringing a pair of wedges as back-up to the heels, just in case.

I'm very dangerous in heels, even in an on moving room. I chose to go with a very dressy flat.

I wear heels. I usually have some that are taller with thinner heels and shorter wedges. The wedges are for more casual outfits, but they'll work for formal nights if seas are rocky.

As a true shoe lover I vote for some sort of heels, sometimes kitten heels or a simple 3 inch stiletto. But there are times when I will wear a simple dressy ornate flat.
