Stolen Birth Certificates

That may be true in MO, but it is not the situation in most states. All records are kept at the state level and unless you live in the capital and can go down and wait on them it takes much longer than that.

Just depends on your state. I live in Illinois and I just go to the courthouse, pay $25 and its in my hand in 5 minutes.

I always keep birth certificates in my safe. They night before we left for our last cruise, i was getting all documents together and went to get our birth certificates out of the safe and DH's was no where to be found. It was 10pm and luckily we had an afternoon flight the next day (saturday). Anyway, long story short, DH actually moved his BC to a safety deposit box at the bank (and only moved his) and had to be at the bank at opening to get it. If we would have had an early am flight--I would have been going solo.

He no longer has a safety deposit box!!!
