Last year we stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites on Stirling and included a free shuttle from airport and to the pier. Oakwood Mall is 10 to 15 minute walk to the restaurants which include TGI Fridays, Ale House and Moonlite Diner. We enjoyed all 3 of them.

Only the moderate hotels offer shuttles, and most of the airport hotels do. If you want to be in a great location, book on Fort Lauderdale beach or Riverside Hotel or if just for one night off 17th St (near the port) and get a taxi ($15-25 for these locations).

We booked the Hampton Inn for our next cruise. We're familiar with area and Oakwood Mall, so that will suit us fine for one night stay. Also enjoyed a couple of dinners at the Moonlite Diner.
