I got mine on the Miracle last week!!!! The thing was that my wife didnt and she has been on every cruise with me. I think you might have to register on the Carnival site. I did and I got a gold card, she did not so she just had to envy mine......:D

  • 1 month later...

Just returned from the 7/2 sailing on the Triumph and we got our Platinum cards. Throughout the cruise, I never saw another one. We even had security do double takes entering and exiting the ship in port.

Many comments from the crew such as "hey, nice card" and "wow, how many cruises have you been on." Funniest was from one of the guys working the photograhs when he asked what you get for doing so many curises. When I said, "nothing" it was if he was ashamed that there wasn't any additional recognition.

I think the Triumph was #17 for me, #16 for the wife and #3 for our daughter.

Hi we were on the Valor 4-24 cruise we got our gold cards. Everyone kept saying welcome back. Couldn't figure why they were saying that. Finally I ask and was told gold card indicates your were a past guest. It was a nice touch but I wish they would give you a little bit more for being a past guest.

Michelle

Thanks!

We were on the Miracle in May and we got the gold cards and were invited to the past guest party. We really enjoyed the party and met a couple there that we are sure will be lifelong friends.

We didn't get any special treatment because of the gold cards and no acknowledgments about being past guests from the crew. We did get a lot of questions from other passengers as to why we had gold cards and they had red, white and blue.

Perks would be really nice for past guests without price increases. Something as simple as on board credits, a discount on drinks and/or purchases, maybe one free picture, etc just to make a few suggestions.

I had written Carnival last year, regarding embarassment and frustration when friends and family ask what I get in return from Carnival for sailing them so much.

I got an email from Uncle Bob himself, telling me they were launching a new program at the end of last year, and to let him know what I thought of it when I sailed on the Legend in 2005.

First thing I noticed upon checking in on the Legend was that they aren't even ready with the platinum card; that all returning guests just get a gold card.

The other thing I noticed was that it didn't seem to be doing anything, other than opening my door and adding mysterious charges to my S&S.

So, I wrote back, telling him my feedback (also telling him that if it was getting me great service, it was still there), which was answered with an apology, that the program wasn't being put on the Legend until July.

We received our platinum cards aboard the Miracle June 3 cruise, but not this past March aboard the Glory. Just a lot of personalized responses from crew members, no perks. Perks would be much appreciated. They seemed to be more responsive with a "Good Morning Mr. and Mrs. ______" rather than a plain "Good Morning.

All four of us got a gold card (it was our second Carnival cruise) when we cruised on the Miracle at the end of last May.

Since we were in a suite, we went to Skippers Club to get our cards, and they didn't have them...they had to go to the main desk to get our cards. All of this was done by the guy checking us in and escorting us through...we had no clue about the gold cards.

Nice touch, but some perks would be nice with it. One of the reasons we chose Princess for our next cruise was that we always cruise in suites, and the amenities they list for suites are unbelieveable. Carnival could take a hint or two ;)

I'll be on Liberty next April . . . my second cruise on Carnival. Will I get a gold card? Does one have to "register" as a past Carnival cruiser prior to the cruise? Wish there were some perks that went with it but . . . I'd just be happy with the gold card . . . :p

MrPeteLI - Does Carnival show all your past sailings in your sailing history? The reason I ask, is that I believe Carnival wasn't really keeping track of them prior to 96 (at least that is what I was told around that time from a Carnival Rep). I have 4 sailings prior to 96 and they don't appear for me. My 10th cruise on Carnival will be this September, but as far as they are concerned it will only be my 6th.

Thanks,

Christine

All but my first one. They say they can't go back before 1990.

But I had to contact the online manager to get them all assigned. I originally only had one linked, and trying to fix it THROUGH the website got me nowhere.

Could someone please post how many cruises needed for each category? I thought I saw it somewhere but can't find it now.

Thanks,

Sheryl

Thanks. My DH and I would be gold with 6 cruises already, number 7 on Aug.1, the Liberty.

Yup. That was my problem. Somehow, both wife and I had our own past guest numbers, which they say is fine, but each needed to be accociated with the website member name properly.

She just asked me to verify the numbers, and then fixed me promptly.

I'm wondering if family members get the same level of card. For instance my DD and I have been on 4 cruises, my DH 3 and my DS's 2. Obviously we are gold at this point but I wonder what happens when some family members hit a different level if all get the same color card.

Its based on each passenger, so one family could have three different colored cards depending on how many cruises each member has taken.

I had trouble adding my husband's past guest number in on the fun pass because someone had put his name in as Micheal instead of Michael. Once they fixed it - 3 phone calls later when the lady was nice enough to help me - it went right through.
