sail7seas Posted August 19, 2012 #101 Share Posted August 19, 2012 If we were to make PG reservations now, before we leave, is our credit card charged now, like shore excursions are charged. What happens then if you want to cancel or change the reservation once at sea? If you are a three or four star Mariner and entitled to discount, you will be charged the full amount for any reservations made in advance of boarding. When you actually have your dinner, a credit will be applied to your shipboard account for the discount you are supposed to get. We have never had any problem getting the four star Mariner credit though some here have said they had to chase it down. That has never happened to us. What happens then if you want to cancel or change the reservation once at sea? Once on the ship -- you can change your reservation -- no problems at all. If you decide to cancel completely -- you will get a refund in the form of Shipboard Credit. Should you have Shipboard Credit left over at the end of the cruise -- you will be called down to the front desk on disembarkation morning and given it back in cash. We used to have to ask for it - but this past cruise the discount was automatically applied once we went to the Pinnacle. Very nice:D Assuming the other ships are run like the Maasdam (I know, never assume) it looks like this issue has been fixed.:)
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 19, 2012 #104 Share Posted August 19, 2012 We've never eaten lunch in the PG. Am I correct in thinking there's a charge for that? I would assume it's a different menu than the MDR. We'll need to try it on this next cruise. We have had lunch in the Pinnacle. It is just way too much food for us at lunch. Pinnacle Lunch Menu Menu - $10 per person - can not be booked until you are on the ship. Starters: 1)Grilled Prawn Bruschetta with a primavera salsa - aged asiago cheese and balsamic fusion 2)Mediterranean antipasto plate - pesto virgin olive oil 3)Scallops creme brulee - caramelized parmesean wafer 4)Northwest five onion soup - tomato shallot soubise 5)Chilled carrot and ginger soup - creme faiche and fried sage 6)Chiffanade of greens and tomato tower salad - Italian vinaigritte Entrees: 1)Pacific rim beef salad - mesclun leaves, mangoes and lotus fruit 2)Alaskan halibut fillet sandwich - sour dough bread, cilantro relish and cucumber potato salad 3)Crab and shrimp cake - exotic fruit chutney, lime Thai curry sauce and orange rice with pine nuts 4)The Pinnacle burger - apple smoked bacon, cheddar cheese and bistro style shoestring potatoes. This dish can be served with a low carb bun and without the potatoes. 5)Sterling silver beef tenderloin with Oregon blue cheese crust - grilled asparagus and scalloped potatoes 6)Penne with grilled chicken breast, lemon basil sauce, sun dried tomatoes and arugula 7)Vegetarian couscous - grilled vegetables and fried mint leaves and harissa Desserts: 1)Fresh strawberries with raspberry sorbet - sugar dough gaufrette 2)Chocolate brownie decadence - an explosion of chocolate 3)Orange and lime panna cotta 4)Ice creams and sorbets - ask for the day's selections 5)Fruit plate
