STAR - Hairdryer information.....

Recommended Posts

I have been aboard the Gem and Dawn and the hairdryers are really good. However, I have recently read on the boards that the hairdryers on the Star are not so good. Anybody have any information that could help me out on this issue? I have long hair and a good hair dryer is essential. However, I hate to have to pack mine if the one on the Star is hair worthy. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

My rule of thumb is to always pack my powerful travel dryer. I may not have to use it, but I'd rather have it than not. What I may think is perfectly acceptable for a hair dryer, you may not. Personally, I don't really like any of the built in ones or even ones at hotels. My travel dryer is light, powerful, and ceramic/tourmaline. I don't do cheap dryers.

Thank you, thank you for all the replies. As long as the dryer has "plenty of blow" with it that should be fine. One less thing in the suit case is greatly appreciated. :)

we just got off the Star on the 5th and my wife said she was going to miss the hair dryer so i guess it was pretty good.;)

Thanks for this post. I was debating on whether or not I should bring mine. It looks like it's one less thing to pack. :D

That was quite a dilema for me. One less thing to pack is definately a big deal! Conair hair dryers are good quality. Of course, not the $100 variety, but good anyway.

I was happy to see this thread. We will be on the Star in October and I was getting ready to start a thread, but thought I should check the forum first. My only question would be, where is the dryer stored? Is it in a drawer like we have experienced on other ships? Thanks for any information.

FYI. I just got off the Star 8/5. I have long hair and relied on the pictures of the hairdryer thinking it's a Conair, it's got to be good.

I am used to a 1850 Watt hairdryer. Although it is a Conair, it is no where near that kind of power. Did it work. Yes. But it took three times as long to dry my hair, and I will bring my own next time.

Trust me. If you are AT ALL picky, bring your own!
