anyone else having this problem?

The link won't work as it is sent out individually, in an email. It's not like last year's promo which we all filled in an online form.

Wonder what the criteria was for receiving the special email? You'd think they'd send it out to folks who took advantage last time.

I saw a post about this promotion on John Heald's page yesterday and since I'm booked within the dates, I went back thru my emails from Carnival. I found the link in an email which is part of a series leading up to my next cruise. The link is in a box on the right hand side . I had ignored it before thinking it was an ad for the Fun Points card. I was able to use the registration form and was given a page to print for my records. I don't know when the credit is given though but it says it will be added to my booking as a promotional onboard credit. The confirmation, or lack thereof, was very vague. But I'll take an extra $50 whenever it decides to show up. Hope this helps some of the confusion.

I'm glad you posted this! I never look at those emails from Carnival. In fact, I usually just delete them. But my ISP saves my emails, so I went to my webmail account and found it! YAY! I'll take that $50 and spend it in the casino or on drinks or something! :D Thanks again!

I looked back through all my e-mails (including spam folder and "deleted" folder), and I don't have anything like this from Carnival, even though I'm booked and paid in full for a December cruise. As a matter of fact, I haven't really gotten any e-mails from Carnival other than receipts (for the original booking, for excursions, and for a purchase from the Bon Voyage Dept.). I don't have anything like "Your Countdown Begins Today." This is the first time I've booked online, but I can't see how that would make any difference. I'm opted in for all updates and offers.

Would somebody be so kind as to tell me what is in the "From" field on the e-mail in question and what the send date was? I want to contact them, but the more information I have before calling, the better. I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Someone else mentioned "Get to know your ship" as the subject line. I hope you get it. I hope I get it!

We are sailing on the Destiny's last sailing in February 2013 and amillard222 's post makes me so hopeful that this Mastercard promo email will arrive for us. I tried the above link also and got the same email error message, so not able to submit it. Someone had mentioned this promo on our rollcall on another site, but they did not have a link. As far as I know, noone from my sailing has said they have actually received this promotion email but someone said that our cruse was ELIGIBLE. I came on Cruise Critic today specifically to search about this promo!

Thanks for more hope amillard222!!!:)

Just got off the phone with Carnival. The $50OBC promotion this year is ONLY being offered to folks booking their new Carnival cruises between September 1-October 31 2012 AND sailing within the afore-mentioned dates. No one else is eligible. Period. Last year's rules do not apply.

Awwwwwww man!!! I've been checking this post with hopes that I can finally unlock the mystery but... both my cabin and our other companions' cabin were booked in AUGUST! One was only two days before the Sept 1 starting point.... :(

Thanks for posting that information. I didn't understand "promotion window" to mean booking dates, but that explains a lot.

"Promotion Window: 9/01/12-10/31/12 (capacity controlled and may close at any time)"

I thought that just meant that was when the promotion was open for enrollment. I guess I booked my cruise too soon. Oh, well...

The promo the Carnival Rep describes looks to be a different promotion than the one the OP posted:

To register, fill out and submit the MasterCard® card Onboard Promotion form provided above. Form must be submitted by 10/31/2012. One credit per MasterCard® cardholder. To designate MasterCard® card as the form of payment for your onboard expenses ("Sail & Sign®" Account), go to carnival.com's online check-in section in My Cruise Manager and enter your MasterCard® card information. Offer has no cash value. The onboard credit is provided as a credit for use only on your onboard Sail & Sign® account up to a maximum of $50 per stateroom on sailings between 12/1/12 and 3/15/13. Offer is subject to change without prior notice and is capacity controlled. Ships' Registry: Panama & The Bahamas.

.....but when I hit submit, it keeps on giving me the error "I must eneter a valid email address" which I have done 3 times so far with no luck.

wasiii

that's because this is apparently a directed/selective offer and your e-mail is not on the list of those offered the deal. Ken

Hmmm...I booked my eligible cruise in April, received the email that contained the link on September 7th and the $50 OBC was credited to my booking 3 days after I submitted the form & linked my MC to my S&S account.

Thanks for the update. Hmmm, the plot thickens....I booked my cruise in June but never received the e-mail. This wouldn't be the first time the phone reps at Carnival gave erroneous information. I think I'll give them a call and see what they say.

"Promotion window" is kind of ambiguous, but if you booked yours in April, they can't mean it's only for new bookings after Sept. 1.

I booked on August 31 (or at least that is when I got a confirmation notice) and just looked through my carnival emails and received a "your cruise countdown begins today" email from Carnival on September 4th.

When I hit the link to the right hand side of the email, it worked and now I have $50 OBC. I think the email you enter to submit the form has to match the email address that they used to send the email to you.

I sail on the Inspiration on Dec 17.

It sounds to me like "promotion window" means the time period in which the offers will be sent out? Which would mean there's plenty of time for the rest of us to receive an email...

Last year it seems like the email went to everybody all at once, then the offer was gone in a few days...got filled up I guess. We got in on it and it was great.

Maybe this year they've decided to space out the offers for some reason. Maybe it was hard on their servers or something...

Usually I pay for everything with my Airmiles Amex or my Scene Rewards Visa...NEVER use my Mastercard, because the rewards on it are terrible. However, this promo will definitely have me dusting off the old MC if it will save me $50. :D

I was able to get on the website that "cheetah" provided and input my information with no problem, when I submitted the page I received a page that said "Thanks" and it included my booking number and stateroom number and asked me to print this for my records. Hopefully this will work!

I did NOT get the e-mail for the $50 MC promotion, but just entered my info on the form and it took... got a confirmation on the website... try again! Last year, I missed out on this as they cut it off WAY BEFORE the end date as they had reached the maximum allowable from MC.

WOO HOO!!! :):D

Thank you, OP and Gtownmom and all y'all! I just tried again and it worked for me this time! I got the "Thanks" screen, instead of the invalid email screen I had been getting. I still haven't gotten the email, but I guess I'm now on the "valid" list.:p

Thank you so much, y'all!:)
