We are flying to West Pam Beach in January and spending the night at a hotel near the airport. We need transportation for 2 the next morning to Port Everglades and then transportation from Port Everglades to West Palm Beach airport 2 weeks later. Does anybody have any suggestions that aren't too expensive?

One way rental cars are your best bet. Good luck! :)

Your talking a 45 min drive plus 15 to 20 min once get to bridge to go into port....so I don't think a taxi is your best bet....I agree with one way car rental unless I can find something else to recommend...I just checked shuttle prices they are 130 to 175 one way for 1 to 3 passengers.....did u check with the hotel you stay at to see if they had any recommendations????

Updated just found this; it looks like $70.00 each way:

just found this, but I don't know anything about this company...

You should be able to get town car service for about $100 each way. You might also ask around on your roll call if there are others flying into or out of PBI that want to go in on a limo with you.

We rented from PBI to Port Everglades, and took a limo back to PBI after the cruise simply because I wasn't sure of the time I would have to get a rental and return it before our flight. We had a 130pm flight, which turned out to be lots and lots of time. I agree a rental is likely the best option for convenience and price and the drive is super easy.

Some companies you can look into for ground transportation options include

  • 4 years later...

We have a family cruise in February out of Port Everglades but flying into West Palm for our group of 7 to stay overnight. Have any recommendations for transportation to the cruise port from our hotel in West Palm for our group of 7?

Thanks!

* Two one-way rentals

* A big stretch limo (Larry's limo or Holland)

* A shuttle van (Go Airport Shuttle)

* Ride the Tri-rail train from PBI to FLL and then grab tow taxis to the port

Train tickets should be under $5 each and the cabs will be about $15 each

We have used them for years. Very dependable. Tri Rail is cheapest but do you really want to be boarding a train with all your luggage? Plus often runs behind schedule. Car rental is an option...airport to airport with shuttle to port.

Be careful of hotels near airport..one area is not very nice or safe.

Thanks for the suggestion! I contacted captains airport but unfortunately they only can accommodate 6 people with luggage. Does someone have a recommendation for transportation from West Palm Beach to Port Everglades for 7-10 people (with luggage)?

Thanks

Because we are staying overnight in West Palm, we would prefer to get picked up at the hotel. Does someone have a recommendation for a service that could accommodate 7-10 people with luggage? Also, reaonably priced. Thanks

for those considering a rental to transport 7 people....my travel agent routinely rents a "club van" or a 'window van' to collect and deliver us to the ship. We have all seen these being used for small sports teams or church buses. They are considerably larger than a minivan.

I think the last time he found one with Budget.

They are not plentiful, but they are available. I would suggest that you call the local rental office of whatever agency you want to use and make the arrangements.

I often travel to Florida to visit my mother, I have been using this company regularly for the past 6 years or so, they are very reliable. He can accomodate up to 7 passengers and luggage in his SUV and sometimes subcontracts to others who also have a large SUV. For a group of 10, two SUV's would work.
