Plaza Cabin Information, Please

Looking at possibly booking cabin P334 behind the International Cafe on the Sapphire. If you've stayed here what is your opinion of this cabin. Is there a lot of noise (main Issue) and is there excessive motion in this area? We are not prone to sea sickness just never stayed in this location. I understand all this is subjective to personal choice.

Thank You

It should be relatively quiet. The deck plans show a door right next to the cabin but in reality, that's not a public door. You get to your cabin by going through the art gallery and to the corridor several doors down. This means that no one will be walking past your cabin. You may hear or feel the stabilizers in certain sea conditions.

While the Island Princess has a different deck layout, I had a similar cabin on Plaza deck on the Island earlier this month for 17 days. It was very quiet--I rarely heard anyone--and I loved the location near the Atrium. Coming back on the ship, it was great to just walk down the hallway to my cabin. :)

Have stayed on Plaza deck a few times, but never that close to the IC. Hopefully someone else can weigh in on the potential IC noise/foot traffic.

The motion on this deck is minimal to non-existent because you're so close to the water. Our cabins on Plaza have been further forward (near the elevators) and we never heard any noise from them or the casino and theater above. Plaza is a convenient location for two sets of elevators, and disembarking and boarding. I think you'll enjoy it.

We have been in a substantially similar cabin. There was no IC then, but there was a bar in the same place. We loved it. There was no noise at all. (We spent very little time in the cabin though.) It was convenient. It wasn't our favorite cabin, we like balconies toward the aft better, but this one was a close second.

We were in one of the insides just up the hall from there on the Golden this past summer. Very quiet area. The only time we noticed noise was when the art gallery staff were moving paintings one morning, but not loud enough to really bother us. It's a very convenient location, and almost no noticeable motion. In fact, I've missed the motion when we've stayed on the Plaza deck. I like being rocked to sleep on a ship, and I don't really feel that much on the Plaza deck. If you are looking to avoid motion, it's a very good choice.

We were just on the Caribbean Princess a month ago and had a cabin on Plaza deck and really enjoyed it. Just walk through Art Gallery as Pam stated and you are by your cabin. Very quiet and no noise from attrium or IC. IC was so handy in the a.m. for coffee, etc. Also convenient for a snack on the way to cabin after coming back from shore. Vines was also convenient for a drink before dinner each night. This was the first time we stayed on Plaza with the IC and Vines close, and loved it.

Great location the closer you are to the center of the ship. The only noise we ever heard might be when you are in port. There were times when tenders came along side. So no late sleeping. :)

Have just returned from P334 on Emerald Princess. A few strange loud noises at night - no idea what they were! But almost all the time, perfectly quiet. Did not access through art gallery, but directly by IC (temptation). They closed the Piazza off at night by shutting a door between our corridor and the piazza. Good position in rough seas. To get to Skywalkers was a bit awkward, having to go up two decks, then walk along and then elevator up to it. Good position for getting on and off in port. No waiting with many others for elevators!

Thank you all for you responses. I think I'll book the cabin, It's been along time since we haven't had a balcony. I think that the fact that I can save a lot of money by going to this cabin will allow me to do more in the ports.

Thank you again.

On my last cruise, I wasn't able to book a balcony so I booked The Sanctuary for the whole cruise instead. $15/day... cheaper than the balcony and I loved it!
