Cutlery on Spirit

Can anyone tell me why when you collect your cutlery wrapped neatly in a napkin you do not have a spoon . . . you have to get up and go look for one elsewhere! Don't people use spoons to eat their cereal. Surely it takes very little time to wrap a knife, fork and a spoon in the napkin.

Hmm, I don't know. Maybe the spoons were not being used as much- especially at non-breakfast times. It can be annoying if you forget and have to go back up to get one.

There were no spoons wrapped in our cutlery on the Pride 2 weeks ago either. They had them on a tray where you would just take one. Usually near the soup, never ate cereal so didn't think of that inconvenience. In the mornings they were in the same spot but instead of soup it was oatmeal and grits that they accompanied.

Maybe most people dont eat cereal or soup.. they eat things that can be picked up with a fork. I know I do.

 

Saves on spoon washing since pretty much everyone needs a fork and a knife.. but far fewer use a spoon.

Spoons are on a separate tray by the ceral boxes in the buffet line.

I don't know why, but spoons are going out of favor in many american restaurants. The latest trend is to provde only a knife and fork. Spoons are served if necessary for soup, deserts, Etc.

Personaly, I like to see a spoon sitting there so that I can flick a glob of my mashed potatoes at the waiter. :D

That drives me crazy too, especially at breakfast. I don't eat cereal, but dislike stirring my coffee with that wooden stick thingy.:mad:

Probably for the same reason you no longer see twelve knives, forks and spoons set out at each plate in the MDR. They now give you what you need for what you are eating. It saves on a lot of unnecessary washing.

I wouldn't consider eating cereal for breakfast on a cruise, though for things like that (oatmeal, yogurt, etc), I would assume that they are also right next to the silverware pile or next to the individual offerings.
