My Breeze 1/13 Review 1/13

INCHARGE

Recommended Posts

We all did room service breakfast, and headed off the ship early. We hired a private tour guide at the pier. He was pretty good. We drove thru downtown Montego Bay before heading to the Plantation. We got stuck in terrible traffic because of a tanker flipped on its side. What surprised us was the calm manner everyone had with this tanker being flipped. Noone seemed excited, or worried about a possible explosion. DH asked about a HASMAT team coming in, and the driver did not know what he was talking about.

Our first stop was this beautiful inn high in the hills. There was a pretty view of the ship below.

We then rode to a plantation, but decided not to go due to time. Not knowing how long it would take to get back pass that tanker, we did not want to chance it. They were going to pull off at 3, so everyone had to be back by 2:30.

After stopping for gifts, our driver decided to go back by way of the higher elevation. We skipped all of the traffic near the tanker. I think this is why so many people were late getting back to the ship. Quite a few people were running for the ship.

Casino and cards later.

We slept late, and went up for a good breakfast. I did not try many of the different food places on the ship, but DH did get the BBQ meal on all of the sea days. I am a creature of habit, and tend to stick with what I am familiar with. I usually had the Mongolian Wok for most of my lunches. We always had dinner in the dining room.

I was not a fan of the Guy burger, as beef is limited in my diet. It was just too heavy.

We packed our bags early, and prepared for the evening. I missed that the Breeze did not have Express Baggage Program yet. They said that because the ship is new in Miami, it would be a few more sailings before it would go into affect.

Later that evening we went to hear The Love Souljaz band. The girl singer was excellent. I am not sure of her name, but think it was Consuella. I had a nice conversation with her on the first day of the cruise, and James told her it was my birthday. She told me she was going to sing me a HBD song. Well, this was the next to last day of the cruise, so never thought she would remember. Sure enough, she looked over and said,"Is that my friend,Gloria?" She had me stand up in front of all those people. She then sang Happy Birthday to me. This made the 5th time on this cruise.

Consuella then made me come up and dance to her Tina Turner song "Rolling on a River." We had to pretend to be Tina Turners backup dancers.Boy, was that dance tiring!! I felt every year of my age.

We finished the night with more Casino and card playing into the wee hours

You have her name right! I enjoyed listening to her last year on the Magic. Hoping she'll still be on this ship in three weeks!

Great review so far!

Even though we are VIP, we did not want to get off early, because our flight was not until 1:45pm. We had a nice breakfast, and just relaxed until it was time to get off the ship. No terrible crowds, because most had already left. I don't think we will do the Carnival transportation again. It took forever for the bus driver to load all of the luggage. He was having a hard time, and sweating profusely. I was worried about him. We will stick to cabs from now on.

This was a great cruise, and I am looking at a January 4 cruise that includes Aruba. I wish they still offered Aruba and Barbados in the same cruise. we did that one on out 10 day cruise, and I would love to do that itinerary again.

Thank you for taking time to read my review. I apologize for not being good with words, but just wrote what I remembered. scary thing, memory. :D

Be sure to get pictures of this wall between the elevators at the Intercontinental Hotel. It is so cool.

Thank You so very much. Every day is truly a blessing. I wish more people realized it.

My friend and I were in the 2nd grade together, that's how far back we go.

You are going to love this ship.
