mrscsilveira Posted February 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2013 Looking for some opinions here. I have been exposed to some negative feedback surrounding the Milano Diamond Gallery. We are getting ready to purchase a 2.5 carat diamond ring from the store we visited in St. Martin. Anyone have experiences they care to share? Getting nervouse

satbeachbill Posted February 6, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2013 (edited) Certified by GIA or AGS - only. If you haven't already checked, maybe look and do some comparison shopping first. Plug your diamond numbers in here and see if your jeweler is pricing things fairly: http://www.diamondreview.com/diamonds/ Edited February 6, 2013 by satbeachbill
bmay01 Posted December 24, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 24, 2013 I notes some people who are a bit fearful of dealing with Milano Diamond Gallery after cruise trips. My wife Rhonda and myself have had a few experiences now with this company and must say we are blown away with the quality of their service. I will specifically recommend anyone who might have any challenges with their products or service, please contact Maurice Kavian out of their New York office if you have any problems. He helped us twice and was very impressive in his commitment to customer service. In 2010, we went to St. Thomas on a Cruise (Oasis of the Seas). I bought my wife Rhonda a very nice replacement wedding ring on this trip that was very expensive. It is a solitaire style ring. Upon our arrival back home to Canada a few weeks later, we noticed one of the claws holding the solitaire looked damaged. I made contact with MDG in New York and they instantly agreed to take care of the problem. In this case, with my travel schedule, I was able to make a trip to New York and take the ring directly to their offices in Manhattan. It was awesome, Maurice had arranged for a jeweller/repairperson to take my ring immediately and do the fix on it. He had it done in a few hours and I was back on my way. Now, since this trip to New York was an inconvenience to me, he offered to make it up to me by offering an extremely deep discount to buy another very nice piece of jewellery which of course, had the chance of making my wife even happier. I bought a white gold bangle which had diamonds laced around the perimeter. It was awesome and the price was absolutely terrific. Now, fast-forward to Christmas 2013. My wife noticed a few weeks ago that one of the small diamonds on her wedding ring (not the solitaire) had been dislodged and was lost. I immediately contacted Maurice again and let him know (sent him photos) we needed some help. He remembered me from 2010 and immediately told me to send the ring to them and they would repair/replace the lost diamond at their cost. We are now in process of shipping the ring to MDG and I trust these guys completely! This may sounds like I am an employee of MDG, but I am not. We live in Canada/Calgary and have no relationship with the company other than having bought a few pieces of their jewellery. We recommend them to anyone!!! gtaylor Posted December 26, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 26, 2013 Why would you purchase from a jeweler where their product continues to fall apart? You mention St. Thomas, but this is the St. Maarten thread. I have my own three island jewelers, chosen carefully after many years of visits and many purchases. Milano is not on my ist. gary
