*Flower* Posted March 6, 2013 #226 Share Posted March 6, 2013 By the way, just as an fyi- Cunard is owned by Carnival Corporation. It's a holding company that came about due to the popularity of Carnival Cruise Lines. I'm not saying that there's anything bad about that, I just thought that you might want to know. Carnival Corporation owns: Carnival Cruise Lines (23 ships) Princess Cruises (17 ships) Holland America Line (15 ships) Costa (15 ships) P&O Cruises (7 ships) Cunard (3 ships) Seabourn (5 ships) AIDA (8 ships) P&O Cruises Australia (3 ships) Iberocruceros (4 ships) The total passenger capacity for these lines is over 190,000. Of course you need to deduct the Costa Concordia from these totals. Thanks for your review- it was very enlightening!

Kstofflet Posted March 6, 2013 #228 Share Posted March 6, 2013 Different strokes for different folks I suppose. I in no way was trying to disregard the dress code. I was simply wearing what was available to me. I'm not sure how stained dress pants is a feeble excuse, but perhaps some don't mind wearing sticky stained dress pants to dinner. For myself, I do. I suspect Carnival is going to do the right thing and refund us a portion of my onboard spending for the incident at Nick & Nora's. That is what Guest Care has led me to believe when I have checked on my claim. So I perhaps hurray for me as well. For what its worth, I tend to pay attention to my lovely wife and the foot before me rather than what the man or woman at a different table is wearing while they are enjoying their meal. Variety is the spice of life and thats how I like my spice. Good day to you! :) After the waiter spilled the drink on your pants, did you see if Carnival could dry clean or launder them while on board? I know my husband has used their on board laundry services in the past. I would hope that Carnival could /would assist since they spilled the drink. Yes, I think he said that CCL laundered them, but there remained a stain in the crotch area and he didn't want to wear them. I kept my mouth shut for most of this review, but I was of the opinion that maybe CCL could have lent you a pair of pants from the formalities dept. But things are many times different in hindsight! I do know the Miracle is leaving today (during a snowstorm???) for it's 2nd to last sailing from Manhattan and I am SURE GOING TO MISS THAT SHIP. It will take lots of good memories on that ship to the west coast. :)
lulabelle522 Posted March 28, 2013 #230 Share Posted March 28, 2013 A plate of buffet foot. Some really bad yams with some really bad stuffing with some fried shrimp that was 3/4 breading and 1/4 shrimp. Just an example of the poor buffet food. This I completely agree with you on! I've been on only 4 cruises with Carnival but I've yet to be impressed with the buffet food. DH and I usually eat in the MDR, breakfast especially. Food is hotter and the coffee is better. I just get so tired of waiting in lines lol
cruiseclues Posted May 24, 2013 #231 Share Posted May 24, 2013 Thank you for your entertaining, straight-forward, honest review. I always want to hear the facts as passengers see them. Great Photos...sorry about your problems...the original deception from the front desk...beyond the problem...the deception itself is disturbing. careycouponer Posted September 13, 2013 #233 Share Posted September 13, 2013 I have a silly question. You said you only had one pair of pants, but when you got to the dining room in shorts and realized it was the second formal night, you thought you'd have to go upstairs and put on pants. Were you going to put on your stained pants again? I agree - I wouldn't pay for the rose / chocolates for sure. Damp floors happen. Whether it's from cleaning, rain, or sea spray. I walk like a weirdo on ships to ensure I don't slip!
cruzeluver Posted September 13, 2013 #234 Share Posted September 13, 2013 OP- Thanks for the honest review and continuing to come back and answer questions. Sorry you had to deal with the "rednecking" of your French doors (duct tape? really??). Completely indefensible, and the fact that they could not explain it or offer any reasonable solution would have had me seeing red. It was not your responsibility to remove the tape, but I see why you did.
cruise pup Posted September 13, 2013 #235 Share Posted September 13, 2013 I had a very bad experience on the Miracle last December with guest services. I was confined to my cabin with a stomach problem for 4 days. I was told that I would be allowed to watch the pay per view films for free during this time which I did (Their system is horrible, by the way. You can't pause a film. You have to start it over from the beginning). I was told on the final day that the charges which were showing on my account would be removed. My final bill came on the last morning and the charges were still there. So I went to Guest Services. Mind you, people are already departing and the Atrium is crazy. It was even a chore to walk through the deck to get there. I showed the bill and I was told that I would have to pay for some of the films since I started watching them before I was ill. That was not true. No matter what I said, the clerk would not listen to me. Finally, I dug out a letter from the infirmary that was dated the same day I started watching the films and he relented, with not so much as a hint of an apology. That's what you're up against dealing with Guest Services on the Miracle. I contacted Customer Relations when I returned home they were no more accommodating. I stayed away from Carnival for a year after so many cruises with them. They really are not interested in loyalty or how much you spend on a cruise. I received much better treatment by Royal Caribbean the time I got sick on their ship. By the way, The Miracle is a horrible ship. There's really not much to do. They cut down the amount of entertainment to a minimum. Mostly guitar players, and some were pretty bad, especially the one in the Atrium. Also, the Atrium is set up every night for photography so most seating areas are not available. Rude casino staff too and don't fall for that iron claw machine. It was popular with a long line but no one won anything. I did have great service in the mdr for the evenings I ate there and my cabin steward was aces, considering things got very messy. Dumbest room service staff too. I asked for tea and got coffee. When I called about it I was brought a tray with every kind of tea except plain tea which is what I asked for. Waitress got upset that I didn't appreciate her special tray. How could I when she didn't bring me what I wanted and had to make a third request?
