After we were done with our pre-dinner snack, we decided to head to the dining room for some more food.

We had Your Time Dining in the lower section of the Golden Olympian dining room, which is the forward dining room. We have had Your Time Dining on our previous cruises and really enjoyed the flexibility of it.

We went to dinner around 6pm and walked straight up to the podium. We asked for a two person table and they sat us at one next to the window. It was very nice to see the gorgeous sunset while we were eating dinner.

People asked to see the menu for each night in my previous review, so I have borrowed the menus from ZydecoCruiser and will post them to coordinate with dinner each night. If you haven’t checked out his website, I would highly recommend it as there are some mouth watering food pictures!

Hello NavyBaby!

I am LOVING your review..... had to say it again!

It is really giving me a great chance of re-living our November cruise with your wonderful pictures!

For those who wondered about Service...

We had spent our 13th cruise on the Liberty in November and had Early Seating.

We had TERRIFIC service - actually one of the best dining experiences

ever! Food was terrific - although we really did not eat at the buffets.

For appetizers, I decided to start with the fruit cocktail from the Everyday Menu and DH ordered the chicken tenders. Both were very good.

I wasn’t a fan of any of the entrees on the menu for tonight either, so I decided to order the Flat Iron Steak from the Everyday Menu. DH ordered the Linguine with Italian Sausage, Bell Peppers, and Mushroom. The steak was cooked perfectly and was juicy. It’s not the best cut of steak in the world, but they cooked it well.

I had been craving WCMC for a couple weeks, so I knew that was the first thing I wanted. Sadly, it was extremely uncooked, so I didn’t end up eating much of it. DH ordered one of his favorites, the Black Forest Gateau.

After dinner, we went to the Venetian Palace to participate in 2012 Guess Than Song. We got spanked by some teenage girl who answer almost every one correctly.

They held a 70’s Dance Class afterwards and we decided to stay in the theater to watch.Only 2 people ended up going up on stage. I think the dance classes are a good idea, but I think they would get more people if they did more modern music and ballroom dances.

After the dance class, they hosted Game Show Mania. They ended up picking 3 ladies who had a little too much at the bar to participate. It definitely made things entertaining.

Right before the Welcome Aboard Show, they hosted the first BINGO of the cruise. We didn’t participate, but stayed so that we wouldn’t lose our seats. Before the game started, the Carnival shoppers showed up and gave out a few prizes to people who could run up to the stage and answer his question first. I almost won one, but wasn’t quick enough.

It was finally time for the Welcome Aboard Show. Even though the show never changes, we always make sure to attend because you get introduced to the cruise director and rest of the entertainment staff. It also starts out the fun for the cruise! Karl with a K was the cruise director and is a fantastic entertainer. He was so much fun and knew how to involve the crowd. This was also the only time we saw Fun Ship Freddy throughout the cruise.

I like to have a snack before going to bed, so we checked out the late night snacks. It seems like every ship we have sailed on has a different version of late night snacks, so I was interested to see what it would be like on the Liberty.

The Liberty opens up a line at the aft of the ship (opposite the pizza restaurant). They had some grilled sandwiches and a couple of other items, plus brownies and cookies. Nothing looked interesting to me, so I decided to head over the pizza restaurant and grab a couple slices.

They kept mentioning the 24 hour pizza during the show, so there was a huge line of people waiting to get pizza when we arrived. When we got to the front, I asked them for two slices of cheese pizza and they gave me one margherita and one of the quattro formaggi. The new crust is so much thinner and delicious. The margherita was delicious with stringy cheese. I wasn’t such a fan of the blue cheese on the quattro formaggi, so I only had a bite or two of that one.

After my late night snack, we decided to head to bed since we were going to be in Half Moon Cay early the next morning. When we got back to our room, we were greeted with this interesting towel...

I am considering booking a cruise on the Liberty in January 2014 ... But a friend of mine just got off the ship two days ago and told me a few thing that has me rethinking about booking it now. :o

She told me the service has gone down. The food is not that good. Said a few times in the MDR food at times seemed reheated from the night before. :(

She said ST Thomas is a filthy island ...

Any info that you can give me would be great.

Thanks ;)

Our food was always delicious and fresh. Had great service the entire time.

Also, I thought St. Thomas was absolutely gorgeous. Yes, there are lower class areas, but you have those areas in the US as well. We did an island tour and really loved seeing the areas and the culture.

Keep reading my review and I'm sure by the end you'll be dying to book!

I have never thought St. Thomas was a dirty island. It is such a beautiful island, I have to say it's one of my favorites!!! Please give St. Thomas a try, as it a great one to visit. We've done several excursions there and loved all of them, as well as walking around, shopping etc. This is actually one of the few islands we were "hassled" at to buy stuff.

We sailed on the Liberty 3 separate times (most recently right before Christmas). Service in the MDR all three times was excellent. Food is so subjective, and I can always find something appealing and tasty. Not sure what your friend meant about St. Thomas, but we've been there twice, and had a great time.

Boarding the Liberty is like going "home". She is a beautiful ship with a great crew :)

They seem to keep changing the night of the "first" elegant night. Some previous cruisers stated that it was on Sunday night and now it it back to Monday? I am on the Easter cruise and am wondering if they will have the first elegant night on Sunday since it is Easter day.

Sunday, February 3rd (Half Moon Cay)

I have heard so many great things about Half Moon Cay, so this was the port I was most excited about on this trip. It looks so gorgeous in the pictures!

We woke up at 8am. We were scheduled to arrived at Half Moon Cay at 9am and since we had priority tendering with FTTF, I wanted to get off the ship as soon as possible. We got dressed and headed to breakfast at the lido buffet.

After breakfast, we walked around the ship for a little while to get some pictures of the island.

After I got my fill of pictures, we went back to our room to grab our bags and headed to the guest services desk to use our priority tender privilege. There was one other couple waiting at the desk when we arrived. After waiting about 5 minutes, a guest services representative walked up and escorted us down to deck 0. At that time, we waited a couple more minutes and then walked right onto the tender. Since we were the first ones on the tender, we waited on the boat for about 20 minutes while it filled up. It was a really easy process and a very nice perk of FTTF.

I did not take my DSLR onto the island with me, so all pictures from now until we arrive back on the ship were taken with our waterproof cameras.

To those that are saying poor service and food is it the my time dinning or the assigned dinning? Just wondering as we will be on the Liberty 5/4 68 days left :)

We also had my time dining. I still love the Liberty and will sail her again. I don't cruise for food :) BUT the MDR still needs to provide better for their guests than the experience we had 2 weeks ago.

AND...I have not received a survey which is highly unusual!

Ugh...and now Cruise Critic is starting to be finicky. I'll try to get some more up tonight, but if I can't, I'll be back tomorrow night.

Thank you so much for posting! I'm loving your pictures. This is helping me relive my cruise from 2/9 western! I know some people think the Liberty is tacky but I think it is the most beautiful of any Carnival ship I've sailed!

You are an excellent photographer. We have this itinerary booked on the Liberty for Thanksgiving 2013 so I can't wait to see the rest of your review.:)

Thank you everyone! I hope to get some more pictures of HMC up later today. Sadly we don't have too many because the waterproof camera we used isn't the best. A lot of them came out blurry. :-(

Oh no!!! I'm dying to see how the 'new monstrosities' look in relation to the rest of the island.
