How can I found out passenger count?

My sis & I are cruising on the Jade leaving Venice June 22 (our first time on Norwegian!). I thought someone had mentioned that there is a way to find out how many passengers have booked. Just curious since there has been almost no chatter on the Roll Calls for our departure date. Not sure if that means fewer USA passengers or just that there are not many who read the CC boards.

Pretty sure there is no way to find out about bookings. You can get an idea by trying to book your cruise and if all the categories have lots of rooms open, then they have lots of room. If you can only book a few various cabins, then they could be close to full.

They do pretty good getting these ships full with last minute sales, specials, etc.

As to those on the Roll Call - it really can vary widely. You can see the same ship on the same itinerary and wide variances from one week to the next.

Yes, it can vary on Roll Call. Our second and third Jade cruises had very little activity on Roll Call. Our 2014 roll call already has as much as some of these did.

Thanks to both of you for your responses. All the tips and information on CC has been very helpful as we plan our trip. This is our first time in Venice so we are getting very excited - won't be long now!

Our luck every cruise we did had quiet roll counts. Cruises from Barcelona on t Epic. Front desk gave us guest counts. Told her we were interested to see how many languages were spoken. 5000 passengers and only 900 Americans

In addition to the other explanations regarding activity on roll calls...

some roll calls are artificially busy, because a few members treat it like a private 'chat room' discussing personal issues that bear no relevance to the cruise.

As for finding the numbers on a future cruise, most lines consider that 'proprietary information', and for competitive reasons will not reveal it.

Once you are on board, they will tell you if you are still interested.
