herbnjod Posted April 19, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Just curious, it seems as if everyone here weighs alot...Because your body retains, and looses water weight--espec. women--there can be as much as a 6-8lb fluctuation during the course of a month. I know from personal xperience that weighing is necessary for me, but I tend to be obsessive about it, so now I ONLY weigh 1x/week, early Fri. am, that's it, It would drive me bonkers to see the scale up/down/up/down...what about y'all? kimned88 Posted April 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2004 i usually end up weighing in every day, however, having said that, i don't really pay attention to it. if i gain, i figure it is water weight. as long as i haven't cheated (which i only do if i plan it ahead of time, such as easter day)there is no way i can gain fat weight, therefore, i only pay attention if the scale goes down. i only really care if i haven't lost anything in an entire week. wierd, huh? that's just me! 34 down, 187 to go gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now.....hurry december!!! kim scandanavian cruise line 1987 cape canaviral - 1995 carnival jubilee - sept 2002 CARIVAL VALOR - DEC 26, 2004 (2ND VOYAGE FOR HER) days to go!!!!!!
Orcrone Posted April 19, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2004 I know that I shouldn't, but I weigh myself at least once a day. However, it's always around the same time, wearing about the same amount of clothing.
WeirdEyes Posted April 19, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 19, 2004 I usually weigh about every other day. I'd go nuts if I weighed every day and saw the scale going up and down. ~~Shelia~~
Sailing the Mariner in....... Carnival Destiny 2002
Rare LAFFNVEGAS Posted April 19, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 19, 2004 HI, OK I admit I am a daily weigher. Each morning after I exercise I get on the scale. I find it actually helps me. I am not one that gets upset when the scale go up. I just know that I am going to have days that I will gainand when I do it just keeps me on track for the day and when I have a weight loss and feel extra good. I find I sometimes get mixed up for how much I have lost for the week because I do weigh daily so I am now writing it down on my calender when it changes up or down. I know this does not work for everyone and I use to work for Weight Watchers as a Lecturer/Leader many years ago and we always told everyone to only weigh once a week. But then here I am trying to loose again after having been to my goal weight at least 15 times. We all know better but we also love to eat. Lisa L Monarch of the Seas-March 2002 West. Carib. PINEVIEW01 Posted April 19, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Hi herbnjod, I weigh in every day. But, I plot my weight over the month. I slowly gain over the month so, I know if I gain little or nothing I'll lose when I weigh on "the day." I claim a real gain or loss only on a monthly baises. I learned my cycle when I was in WW. I would lose big two weeks, some one week and little or nothing the fourth. It helps to know why when you've "been so good" with no loss. Guest Posted April 19, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 19, 2004 When home I weigh every morning but count it only on weigh-in Thursdays. When away for a few days or on vacations. I don't weigh (except at the river) After I come back from a cruise or a longer vacations I don't weigh for awhile. Know it will be up, so wait awhile, so it will go down some. So won't be a "shock"! babylene Posted April 19, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Every morning, first thing (well...almost!) I get on the scale. I have been doing this forever, it seems. I have slowly watched myself gain 20 pounds since I am married (almost 30 years). I know I can never weigh what I weighed then. I don't even want to ....but I would like to see that "2" in the middle again!!!
Lill Posted April 20, 2004 #9 Share Posted April 20, 2004 I weigh first thing every morning. I even found a scale on the last cruise so I could weigh each morning. I only count my Thursday weigh in though. nosnobunny Posted April 20, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 20, 2004 First thing each morning, before the shower adds water weight and stark raving nude. I even take off all my jewelery. No need to add any extras. Beth
PJK Posted April 20, 2004 #11 Share Posted April 20, 2004 I started out weighing everyday. I became so obsessive with the scale that it was driving me nuts. Finally I had someone hide it and weighed every Thursday. Since my cruise I am back to weighing everyday. Pam NCL Sea 4/04 NCL Norway 4/

pazooter Posted April 21, 2004 #15 Share Posted April 21, 2004 I weigh every morning when I get up, also without clothing. The weight has now been the same for about 11 weeks. happysinglemom Posted April 21, 2004 #17 Share Posted April 21, 2004 Every morning, after the potty and before the shower. Like clockwork. I have to know how I'm doing. I expect daily fluctuations - so it works for me. Been doing it that way for a year and a half now. Adventure of the Seas will be our maiden cruise! herbnjod Posted April 22, 2004 Author #18 Share Posted April 22, 2004 I just find it very defeating when the scale goes up, even a lb or sometimes stays the same...I measure for that reason---I lost 2.25 in. in 3 weeks, but the scale didn't budge. Scales are evil haha...anyway, I do notice that the middle of my cycle I weigh more, anyone else notice? Celebrity Century Millenium Thanksgiving!
