Avalon35 Posted September 2, 2013 #76 Share Posted September 2, 2013 Some of the reviews I read indicated that the Ocean Princess seemed a bit worn - chips on furniture, etc. has there been a recent dry dock for ocean princess and pacific princess ? Or are there dry docks scheduled? I know some one has posted somewhere but how do you find the dry dock schedule? I also like to hear comparisons between the luxury lines with ships of same size. It seems Princess may be the better overall value. I am in the process of planning for 2014.

Wehwalt Posted September 2, 2013 #78 Share Posted September 2, 2013 The Lido deck furniture on the Ocean was replaced May 17, in Livorno. I watched them do it.

Kamloops50 Posted October 13, 2013 #81 Share Posted October 13, 2013 Having never sailed the babies of Princess and probably wont in the next few years, how long do you give it until Princess gives them up. With 2 new ships within a year Royal and Regal, is the time up. They both are used for World cruises. I don't think that they will be replaced any time soon. Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Forums mobile app Totally agree! Some of the most interesting itineraries are on the small ships! It would be hard to get ships the size of the Royal down the Amazon or into the fjords. Give me the little girls any day!:)
Wehwalt Posted October 13, 2013 #83 Share Posted October 13, 2013 I spoke with the Future Cruise Consultant on the Ocean this May. She said there are always rumors about them selling the small ships but they are never true. While I take anything a Princess employee says on that subject with a glass of seawater, I suspect there are enough people who swear by, rather than at, the small ships to keep them going for the foreseeable future. I'm confident they will be around for years to come.
