Oceanview on Splendor?

Thinking of booking a late September cruise on the Splendor out of NYC. We have stayed in balcony cabins 5 out of 7 cruises. Twice inside. Never tried ocean view but the prices are pretty tempting. Not sure how we would like being on deck 2?! Cabin 2470 looks larger than others in the same category which would be nice....

Both deck 1 & 2 are nice and quiet, mid ship is great, not to much movement of the ship. OV cabins are great for non smokers. If cruising in cold weather, you may not use the balcony much so why spend the money......do the Chef's table with your savings!

We are booked in the same cabin on the Conquest. There are pictures of the cabin bouncing around.

We were in room 2254 on the splendor in may. Went for the same room on the glory but got an upgrade offer I couldn't refuse. But would never hesitate to go OV on deck two! Loved it!

We had 3 OV's on the Splendor (1290, 2286 & 2287). Loved them. They are 225 sq. ft.

 

Regular Balcony cabins are 185 sq ft plus 40 sq ft of balcony.

 

If you like to sit on the balcony, then get one. We really don't sit on a balcony that much and liked the extra cabin space. Couldn't see the sense in spending that much more for a balcony cabin over an Oceanview cabin.

Do it. Even though OV's aren't the same as balconies you'll enjoy it.

My sister just had 2 OVs on Splendor deck 2, we were in one balcony on the same sailing. Her rooms were great. It loved how close to the water the view was. I wouldn't hesitate to book there.

We've done 2 ocean views, though not on that ship, and really enjoyed them.

On Splendor we had a balcony which we used about 2 times the entire trip(too cold and windy). Wish we had gotten an ocean view and spent that balcony money elsewhere.

Yes, see my signature, we went from LA around the horn of South America to NYC......It was a B2B2B. A great way to spend a winter!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Lower decks are great. Its smoother sailing and you are low enough to be close to the water and see fish and dolphins sometimes

we are booked in 2470 on the Splendor. My PVP sent me pictures. The cabin is huge, 2 large windows and tons of space to move around in the cabin. I can't wait :D

Thanks everyone! I put a 24 hour hold on it last night and I think today we'll just do it! I do love my balcony but it is $400+ less - that will cover the parking in NYC and buy a foo-foo drink or two! :rolleyes:

I'm sailing in just over two weeks in OV cabin 2312. First time OV for me. Can't wait!

I love the OV cabins. We did 1 balcony, the room was smaller, so we went back to the OV. This November, we are trying the cove balcony, I hope it is worth it...$20 pp difference between that and the OV. I don't think we can go wrong with that upgrade, I just hope it is not crowded for this family of 4.

We have sailed on the Splendor in an inside, but did an OV on the Dream and loved it! A funny benefit to the OV is a deep window ledge where we could put our towel animals for safe storage. John
