luvscruising2007 Posted August 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2013 What is the easiest and cheapest way to get to the Prudential Center from Port? And the return to the port? Thanks!
Nitemare Posted August 6, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2013 Easiest is a cab Cheapest is walking (it's a long walk) 2nd cheapest is taking the MBTA (Silver Line to South Station, get on Red Line to Park Street, transfer to Green Line to Copley Station) For the return, do the opposite (Green/Red/Silver) You do NOT need to go to the Prudential MBTA station to go to the Prudential. All green line trains go to Copley, but only 1 out of 4 goes to the Prudential station, and it's not that much closer that you need to wait for that specific (E Branch) train. luvscruising2007 Posted August 6, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted August 6, 2013 Thanks, Nightmare. What do you consider a long walk? Is it straight forward? Just trying to get a picture of what we are looking at.
chengkp75 Posted August 6, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 6, 2013 Thanks, Nightmare. What do you consider a long walk? Is it straight forward? Just trying to get a picture of what we are looking at. About 3+ miles.
luvscruising2007 Posted August 6, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted August 6, 2013 3+ miles is a very long walk.:( Still not sure what we will do. Thanks for the info.
Nitemare Posted August 7, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 7, 2013 You're on vacation. Take a cab, spend the $25 or so and enjoy your stay instead of worrying about maps and subways and finding things. Check a map and see where things are so you can more easily get a grasp on your options.
luvscruising2007 Posted August 7, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted August 7, 2013 Nitemare- I think you are right. We just might get a cab or we may book through the cruise line. Convenience does have its worth.
1025cruise Posted August 7, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 7, 2013 What are you looking to do at the Prudential Center? Its got an expensive shopping mall, and its an office building. Not really what I'd be looking to do on a port day in Boston.
138east Posted August 7, 2013 #9 Share Posted August 7, 2013 Yes - what's at the Pru? Perhaps the Duck tour? The Duck tour also leaves from the Museum of Science. That could be a better location because once you're done (it only takes 80-90 minutes), you are much closer to Quincy Market/Faneuil Hall, North End, or Downtown Crossing/Boston Common. luvscruising2007 Posted August 8, 2013 Author #10 Share Posted August 8, 2013 Yes, actually we are looking at doing the Duck Tour. We have been to Boston many times and this will give us a fun look at Boston. Not being that familiar with the geography, I thought Pru was closer to Fannueil Hall which is where we want to be at the end of the tour. We are planning to get lunch around that area. You guys are great giving me so much good info. Thanks.
emcee207 Posted August 8, 2013 #11 Share Posted August 8, 2013 I think the Duck Tours also leave from the Long Wharf area, by the Aquarium. Even closer to Quincy Market and a fun area.
panamatiger Posted August 8, 2013 #12 Share Posted August 8, 2013 Here ya go -> http://www.bostonducktours.com/Default.aspx Check out the boarding locations and stops. You do not have to start at the Pru; which as others have said-not a great idea. Enjoy your day in Boston and your cruise
