You can also just purchase a day pass if you want to try it without spending the weekly amount. It's about $40. Cloud 9 spa is my absolute favorite place to be. It was my daily ritual the past 2 years on the Dream.

THanks for info about the VIP Spa relaxation room. I didnt know about it. I plan to check it out. We have Spa balcony on the MAGIC in November...so excited!

My husband and I really enjoyed the Cloud 9 Spa on our spring break 2012 cruise on the Magic. Our favorite thing was the thalassotherapy tub. Unlike hot tubs, there is no overwhelming chemical smell (I'm not sure if any chemicals are used at all). It also wasn't crowded, and, as others have said, did not have kids trying to snorkel and cannonball in it! :eek:

 

We are going on the Sunshine in December and initially had a Cloud 9 Spa room booked. We ended up cancelling it and booking a room on Lido after we learned that the Sunshine would not have a thalassotherapy pool or a rainforest shower in the Cloud 9 spa facilities.

The spa pass includes the T-pool, the heated tile loungers, the steam room, the aromatherapy sauna, or maybe it is the steam room which uses aromatherapy? They have the a room with the heated tile chairs and a third room which was cooler. They have really huge showers as well, so if you feel cramped in the one in your cabin, it can be nice to use.

 

Unfortunately I got bronchitis on our last cruise, but i did use the steam room and it made me feel better.

 

The first time we bought a spa pass was on the Epic in 2010. If a ship offers the pass we always sign up, for DH and I it is one of our favorite places, however, we may skip it on the Sunshine since they don't have a T-pool. People spend money on what is important to them. For us it is worth it to have a place away from the crowds. However, we would never spend money on the shops, but some people love the shops. FTTF is important to some, but to others is a waste. Only you know what you value and what enhances your cruise experience.

 

Well stated. Some people think the Cheers program is worth almost $800 for a week long cruise. Some think spending a thousand bucks a day in the casino is fun. Some prefer Suites and others are happy in the cheapest cabin they can get. I, personally LOVE the idea of the spa cabins/spa passes. Those heated tile loungers facing the ocean, in a very quiet area, are calling my name! And I will be lounging in that awesome Thalossotherapy/hot tub every day on my cruise on Magic in May! I am counting the days! ahhhhhhh

We were on the Breeze two years ago in October and purchased a day pass to the spa for $40 on a day without a port. The T-pool was so crowded! We were there in the morning and then after dinner, both times it was full and barely room to sit shoulder to shoulder. I am assuming our experience is unusual because most ppl say it is quiet and relaxing but our experience was not.

 

The group I am sailing with in three weeks have booked spa rooms so I am anxious to give it another try especially since we can go anytime. Wish us luck!

To each their own. I absolutely LOVE the thermal suite and choose my cruises according to which ships have them (and some are nicer/larger than others). I live in South Florida and so beaches and palm trees and warm weather in the winter are nothing new to me, but being able to relax on a heated ceramic bed or in the mineral pool WITHOUT people's children and the chaos of a pool deck is very relaxing for me. My life is very stressful. The thermal suite is a wonderful way for me to de-stress (love the steam rooms there too). And, often I will choose to shower at the spa while my husband showers in our cabin. On the ships that offer them we take a spa cabin. Everyone has different priorities. For some it's a balcony, for others, unlimited drinks, for me, it's the thermal suite. Booked on the Splendor in a spa cabin 12/13/15!!!

Last time we were on the Magic I did this pool and so glad I did. Had been sick for over a month and then had surgery and was just going through the motions on the cruise. I keep telling my husband I need to go to the pool because it might make me feel better, but walking all the way to the end of the ship just didn't appeal to me. On the third day told my husband would have to do something because we were wasting a good cruise. Long story short went to the pool 3rd day out and set in it for 30 min. When I got out felt like a new person. My husband new immediately I felt better when he saw me. He said I haven't seen you smile in weeks so it must of worked.

 

Going back in Jan 2016 and I will be in that pool that you can count on. Oh and it was like $35 dollars for the whole day.

Another T-pool lover here. As a lifelong insomniac, a soak in the pool then stretch out on the heated tile lounger equals a solid two hour nap, which is a very rare occurance for me. I don't care about treatments, but those two places are more than worth the price!!

I just got off the Breeze yesterday. The ship was full, but the most people we had in the thalassotherapy pool with us was 3. It was never crowded.

You're being very presumptuous about why I made the decision to buy a spa pass. NOBODY is making me think anything. I enjoy the spa experience and no one will ever convince me I can get the same experience in one of the public pools or hot tubs that usually have kids in them. Anyway, do you and stick to the mediocre. I prefer to use the VIP spa area, including the thermal rooms, and I paid to do so. Please refrain from telling others to do what you do and using misinformation to support your assumptions. Especially in a judgmental tone. I'm not listening anyway.

To the OP, we've used the spa on other ships and enjoyed the peace and quiet. It's a great respite from everything. We're booked on the Splendor in a couple of weeks and opted for a spa cabin.

We have done the same................looking forward to a spa cabin on the Splendor...the T- pool and heated loungers are what we are looking forward to the most.

The only problem with the thalassotherapy pool is that on the last sea day before returning to port...if the ship is making max knots and going into the seas, there is a huge amount of sloshing of the water and makes it difficult to stay seated. I found this out when I was on Dream.

People, you do realize you're posting in yet another old thread that was revived, right? So addressing the OP and some 2-year-old responses is probably pointless. :rolleyes:

 

But since it's been revived, I'll just say that I'll be in a spa cabin on Splendor going to Bermuda in October. I never get in ship pools and rarely in the hot tubs, but I'm going to be in the Thalassotherapy pool! And I can't wait to check out the heated loungers. :D
