Let's help Princess build the (near) perfect ship

Both the Island Princess class and Radiance class ships are around 90,000 GRT but both companies elected to not exercise options to build two more each because of the changing economics of the cruise business. They are also the largest ships now afloat that can squeeze thru the current Panama Canal.

Don't forget Celebrity's four Millennium Class ships and half of NCL's fleet. (Jade, Gem, Jewel, Pearl, Dawn, Star)

all at roughly 91,000 tons

They don't need to build it; they just have to buy a Radiance Class ship from RC.

No way will RCI sell one of those high speed babies.:D

The M ships share a hull design with the Radiance ships, built at the time RCCL was taking over =X=. Too bad RCCL didn't impose the RCI Radiance gas turbines on Celebrity for the M's as =X= has had long standing problems with the Azipods of the M's.

The Royal Princess has 975 theater seats for a 4,000 pax ship? Bleh:eek::eek:. The 4,000 pax RCI Freedom class has a 1,500 seat theater.

RCI has better shows so more people will go to the theater

Princess would rather have you in the Bar or Casino

My vote would be to just build more Island/Coral types. Of all the cruise lines and ships I've been on that is as close to a perfect ship that I've encountered. Although I do want to try a Celebrity Solstice Class ship one of these days.

AGREE! We tried the Celebrity Reflection. It is a fabulous ship, but not as much nautical theme. Island/Coral still my favorite ships! (Sapphire least favorite.)

Many good suggestions in this thread so I won't repeat any that I have seen. What I would add is this suggestion:

Replace all or some of the stairways by the elevators with escalators. This would still be safe as they would function as standard stairs in the event of loss of electrical power. More people would use them and relieve the long waits for an elevator. In addition to this idea, I would ban the photographers from being anywhere near where people must travel to get around on the ship.

Ok folks here comes a Biggie! At least TWO more Duplex Electrical outlets in the cabin. Yes, I bring a large multi-outlet strip for all my wall warts. It's just sometimes there is not enough space to lay them all out in one place...... And my wife agrees on Functional Hairdryers. We bring our own.
