Royal Princess - Owner's Suites - 10 sold in one day?

After reading posts here about issues such as involuntary upgrades, rooms being reclassified, etc, I've been keeping my eye on our upcoming cruise on the Royal, to make sure our reservation stays the way we want it, and to keep an eye on prices for potential price drops. Because we're booked in an S5 suite, I have been watching the suites specifically on our March 9th sailing, and it's been pretty wide open - only 2 of the 8 Premium Suites booked, all but three of the Penthouse Suites booked, and 4 of the Owners Sites booked. I went on today, and suddenly ALL the Owners Suites are booked, which seemed unlikely, although not impossible - 10 of the most expensive cabins sold in one day?

 

I then went to check a bunch of bookings and they are ALL showing the Owners Suites sold out - could they maybe be blocking them until they fix the soot problem?? :confused:

My guess is that they're either re-categorizing or re-pricing them.

Maybe they upgraded a bunch of people and now 10 lower category cabins have opened up in their place.

If you check it seems to be for all of the winter cruises so that doesn't seem likely.

Final payment isn't for a while so it's too early for that I would think.

Oops. I missed that part. Looks like they have blocked out those cabins for the time being for a reason that we may never know. Perhaps if one were to call Princess direct and try to book a Suite, they might get an answer.

It could also be someone looking for a couple of owners suites calling around to different TAs, with each TA taking out a courtesy hold just in case. This could tie up inventory until the holds expire.

I am sailing in September 2014 in an aft suite & was watching the remaining suites nearly every day hoping for a price drop. I just looked & they are now "sold out". Does seem strange .....

It will be interesting to see the pricing. IMHO it was way over priced for the T/A for what I actually received. Big waste of money. Plus the soot issue made my great balcony almost unusable.

Well, it's not Group space held because suites are not allowed in Groups. Most likely, Princess is changing something about them (pricing, description, etc.) at the corp. office.
