No, discount applies only if you are 55 before you start the cruise. BTW, not all cruises offer that discount.

We were told by the reps to keep calling up until final payment to see if senior discount is added/offered on our cruise later.

We had this cruise coming up booked since February. I check regularly and a month or so ago I finally found a senior discount. Saved us almost $350. The discount option disappeared after a couple of weeks.

If you do an Advanced Search from the RCI website under Plan A Cruise and then Search for a Cruise you can monitor yourself if your particular cruise or any cruise has any type of discount is offered.
