Pearl leaving Miami - in Reverse

I have never seen a ship set sail out of the Port of Miami backwards. Come to think of it, I have never seen a ship go that far in reverse either. That would be just way strange to go by South beach aft first on sail away - (edit: never mind she did turn right before the beach.) Quite a different view from POM for a change though.

We have Cruised on the above Ship 8 Times + we love the Crew, The Entertainment + we have found the food Excellent. As a Matter of Fact we are returning to Cruise on this vessel again December 8th to December 15th, 2013. We would appreciate hearing from anyone that might be travelling on the same cruise on the same date.

You will want to go to the Roll Call forum section of Cruise Critic and look for your ship/date/sailing.

Enjoy your cruise. :)

I was watching the webcam too. That was certainly...unique. Is there a reason that they couldn't use the turning basin today? It was a bit like a slow motion bank getaway; get up to speed in reverse and flick the nose around and keep on going. :D
