Cigar King Posted December 7, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 7, 2013 FWIW, I tried using the app that comes with the gs4 to control the tv in our room. We are on the Explorer and have a flat screen. The app works fine, and has a button to change the input. There are several unused ports on the set. If you were planning on bringing another device, and wanted to hook it to the tv the app may work easier than bringing a universal remote. Sherlock43031 Posted December 8, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 8, 2013 there's very little the new Samsung S4 can't do.. I wear hearing aids and Siemens has an app that will let you change programs and volume from your phone.

Coralc Posted December 8, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 8, 2013 Was the provided remote not working? I think it's about the ability to use the disabled USB ports on the TV.
Rick02809 Posted December 8, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 8, 2013 I think it's about the ability to use the disabled USB ports on the TV. I used the USB ports last year to charge my cell phone ( I use it on board as a camera & MP3) on board last year because the electrical plugs are limited in the stateroom
