Overnight in Nassau

We are 4 (mature aka old) lady friends traveling for a 3 day getaway on the Ecstasy in Jan. The ship is in Nassau from 10am Sat till 7am Sun. What ship activities may we be able to look forward to on this port day? Shows? Comedy Club? Formal night? I am assuming the casino will be closed this whole time. I have never been on a 3 day cruise, always longer ones, but I am introducing my 3 friends to the joys of cruising and want to make sure their time onboard is memorable. Has anyone done an overnight in Nassau and have info on this?

These 3 nighters definitely have a different vibe than longer cruises with many passengers sailing with a "pack as much fun in 3 days as possible" attitude. As others mentioned, casino will be open and the list of activities will be similar to what is normally offered on evenings when the ship is at sea, but many passengers may still be ashore. It's not uncommon to see passengers wobbling their way back to the ship throughout the night.

We will also have the "pack as much into 3 days as possible" attitude . We may be old but we're not dead so we will make the most of it..but we won't be wobbling back to the ship.

Years ago we (a group of 50) were on a 3 day cruise with an overnight in Nassau. The funniest look back moments were of this blowup doll (yes that kind) some guy was carrying around the ship and into the dance clubs. Several of us were desperately searching for a few that stayed in Nassau overnight but they did make it back. I remember evening activities being fairly normal. I'm sure it was cruise casual in the dining room but we dressed up every night so I'm not sure.

Carnival had overnights in Nassau for as long as I've been cruising. Imagination stays there until next morning. (It will be replaced by Ecstasy soon, with the same itinerary.) Sensation has quasi-overnights in Nassau until midnight on its 3-day sailings only. Its 4-day sailings normally leave at 5:00 PM, but occasional itinerary changes extend the stay until 1:00 AM.

My Sensation cruise had that change, and it made the cruise so much better :D. Me and my cruise friends partied in Senor Frog's until late. All the dancing, drinking, and stumbling back to the ship was awesome. The ship still had all the normal functions: shows, dinner, bars, etc. I talked to one of my tablemates, who did not go ashore that night, and he said everything was business as usual. No clue about the shops or the casino, since I spent only a few minutes there during the entire cruise, and I didn't ask him about those.
