Cheers and Casino Match Play

Well, you can only do this max 15 times in a day and they don't have to be one after the other.

BTW, does the match play have to be done the same day as the drink was ordered or can they be saved up and used later in the cruise?

You can save them. I've actually brought some home before and used them on the next sailing.

Ok I don't play the tables or gamble much. Can I give my match play to someone at the tables?

You can give them to whoever you want to. It's just a little card they give at the cashier with a receipt for a classic cocktail.

We used them on Roulette. One on black, one on red. You profit $5 so it knocks off $2.50 per drink overall. Certainly not a huge savings but it's something I guess.

Thanks for the info.

I think the prices on the Imported and Domestic beers are reversed. Domestic is usually cheaper than imported, not more expensive.

This is what i thought too. But this table is correct. What it does not explain is the domestic beers are considerably larger. Thus the oddity.

This is quite an interesting idea. Going on Freedom in Dec. wonder if it will be in play. DH and I like to compete on roulette anyway...yes, we know it's dumb. We don't expect to win when we gamble, just have fun, but with the match plays, we could actually win a bit of money.

It will be interesting to see if it has been discontinued on all ships, or on Pride only.

Will also be interesting to see if you can still do the match play when the classic cocktails are purchased through the Cheers program once the new lower pricing for the Cheers program goes into effect on Aug 8.

My first thought upon hearing the lowering of the price was that there was no way they would continue it. At full utilization (105 drinks for a 7 day cruise), match play value would be 105 * 2.40 per match play (odds of winning a $5 bet slight less than half) = $252. Cost of program now $301.88 less match play value = $49.88, or 47.5 cents per drink. They would definitely be losing money at that point.

But if it still works, you can drink for a lot less than what the crew does.

This thread has me interested enough I am looking up the rules for roulette and craps. Seems to easy if the match play is still available. We'll be on the Magic in two weeks. I hope match play is an option.
