Cabin doors on Voyager

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I want to make a sign for our door (inside cabin, Deck 9) for our sailing in September. Can anyone tell me it the doors are metal? I have magnetic "paper" and wanted to use it if it will stick.

Do a lot of people decorate their doors? This isn't thought of as tacky is it? Last year we we sailed with Celebrity and I decorated our door- nothing to lavish. Just a sign that said what day it was and where we were heading and a sheet for people to "autograph". That was fun. I think RCI is not quite a "reserved" as Celebrity so it thought a few little dodads would be ok...

Thanks!

Never understand the decorating of your cabin door? Never seen it in a hotel/resort? Why would you do it on a cruise?

Because a cruise is FUN, that's why. You are on the cruise with the same 2,000-3,000 people for the entire time, not like a hotel where the population is constantly shifting, even if *you* are staying a week. It's fun to leave messages, and to have messages left. And lots of people like to be able to spot their own door down a long ship's hallway (or companionway, for those who are researching nautical lingo :D), particularly on those long, late nights at the casino and the lounge. :D

Carol (NOT a "serious" cruiser! - it's all about the FUN!)

Thanks for answering the question. Yes, I do think it's fun! I don't want to decorate the whole door and make it look wacky! I especially like our sheet for people to sign. I still look at ours that we had from our last cruise. People sign their name and where they're from. It's a nice momento. It's also our anniversary so I made a small sign. To each his own!
