Ship Level?

What's your recommended/favorite Ship Level on Carnival Imagination's 4-night Mexico cruise?

Newbie deciding on ship level....already decided midship, but wandering about the various levels....main, upper, empress - what's differences?

Cabins on this ship are cookie cutter. Midship Riviera works just fine for us. Only reason to spend more on a higher de kid if you want to have a shorter elevator ride.

thanks....

I thought that I read the lower decks 'hear' the anchor being lowered early morning upon docking...how 'low' would that be?

and the lower decks either feel more or less 'motion'?

what accomodation level deck has other facilities (pool, clubs, dining, etc) on them other than cabins? or are all the accomodation decks just cabins?

thanks, Phlybice.

we have 2 options for our rooms....midship Main level and mid-front on Empress.

I've been told that midship or back is better than forward - more motion for us first timers.

On Imagination (and other Fantasy class ships) I tend to gravitate to midship empress. It just seems the most convenient.

Actually, the only time I was forward of the atrium by about 8 cabins was on the Imagination, on the Empress deck, and fared quite well. It's the EXTREME fore and the EXTREME aft that I have felt motion, and the WHOLE SHIP moves when the seas get rocky, which in our experience has been VERY rare.

Most people disagree with me (some vehemently) but my favorite area by far on the Imagination is the verandah deck mini suites. I love the location, the rooms are great, and the decks, although not large, are enjoyable. Our last two Imagination cruise were a B2B last April, and we enjoyed V1 on the starboard side.

Great location and room IMO.

Be careful of cabins around the midship elevators. The elevator shaft/stairwell conducts the smoke from the casino bar downward. The smell is in the hallway for about three cabins in either direction.

We prefer aft cabins, closer to the aft elevator, right into the buffet.:p

I really enjoyed our junior suite on the Verandah deck as well!

2 cruises on Inspiration (sister ship to Imagination) and we stayed on the Empress level, mid-ship both times. Very convenient to everything, extra elevators as mentioned...

But I don't think you'd have noise from engines/anchors etc on either of the floors you mentioned.

We also chose an inside stateroom midship Riviera and was pleased with the room. Barely felt any movement. Bathroom was a tad small but then again it was still bigger than Royal Caribbean's.
