From the ship it's 2 miles to the trailhead? That's before you even start the hike and then do the 2 miles back. Is there any transit to get to the start of the trailhead?

An all day transit pass in Vancouver costs $9.75 ($7.50 if over 65) and includes all transit buses, SkyTrain, Canada Line, at the SeaBus.

Where can you buy the pass? Where can you find the routes? We'll be there for a day and after we drop our bags at the hotel, this might make sense for us.

All day passes may be purchased at many ticket vending machines at SkyTrain stations including the Canada Line station at YVR. The are many merchants that sell them as well including Pharmasave and the 7-11 at YVR. Schedules, maps and other information can be found at:

Hello repeat and budget Alaska cruise experts! Below I'm listing a bunch of the ports that are frequented. I need help coming up with the top 3 or 4 things to do in each port that cost about $10 or less. Obviously, window shopping is a given unless there are any specific stores that are especially fun to visit.

thank you very much for your post! We are in these ports on Celebrity Solstice and in Juneau from 1:30 -10pm, how long does it take to do all activities you mention there and in Ketchikan?

Didn't read them all as I am in a hurry but have you thought of geocaching? It is a blast and in many towns there are caches. http://www.geocaching.com

That is what we are doing in July when we go.

Doesn't cost anything and usually there are caches at the highlights of the town.
