My husband is trying recreate his new favorite drink the Kentucky Derby. We had it on the Reflection in June. Does anyone know what is in it? We wished we had taken a picture of the Molecular Bar menu.

It must be a new drink as I haven't seen it on the menus posted online from last year:

Maybe keep searching?

Happy sailing,

Jenna

I have never heard of it before either...the drink, not the race;)

Don't feel bad Lois, I opened the thread on my phone trying to figure out why Celebrity was not going to show the Kentucky Derby next year at the molecular bar....I am officially going nuts.

Here are the ingredients per the menu from the Molecular bar. Celebrity started to updated the drink menu in this venue late last year. It as slowly added to the ships one by one.

Woodford Reserve Bourbon

St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur

Domaine de Canton Liqueur

Elderflower and Ginger Essence

Roasted Apple and Toasted Spice Bitters

Lavender Yuzu Bitters

Citrus Enhancer

Take a look at Juniors website and see if any of the above is available for purchase.

Okay I'm going to try this again.

I need to check my posts before hitting submit.:)

The Kentucky Derby was one of my favorites on the Equinox earlier this year. I found the recipe on Junior Merino's web site and have made many of them this summer. The recipe calls for Elderflower Ginger syrup, which we made our own. It also calls for some aromatic bitters which we don't have, but substituted something close. Here is a link to the recipe Kentucky Derby

  • 1 year later...

I too was a big fan of the Kentucky Derby.

To make i thru the summer, anticipating this year's cruise, I bought all the ingredients from Junior's website.

Perfect recreation of the atmosphere at the Molecular Bar but no Sergei nor Andrei

Just shows what the lack of an apostrophe can do
