Bus to the East End of STT

All,

Is there a bus that a group of us can take to get out to the various East end beaches? We're thinking about going to Coki, Secret Harbour or one of the others out there and with 6 of us it might be easier to catch a bus.

If there are what bus number do I look for and where do we pick them up? Do they run on a schedule? If necessary we can bus out and cab back....

Do yourself a favor and take a taxi. The bus system has no schedule, no markings on the busses (really flat bed trucks with benches), only goes in one direction, will require changes and is totally unreliable.

I agree. Some folks swear by the $2 bus because they enjoy that but you do lose precious time and with Coki and Sapphire there is some walking as well...

The VITRAN buses are "real" buses. They run in a circle route like the safari buses, described by beautifulbill. Neither one will really help you, as you would have to walk to Coki and Sapphire. Secret Harbour is not along the route at all. Take a taxi or rent a car.:D

The "taxis" are mostly converted pick up trucks with benches for seating and can hold up to 25 people. Very good option for groups.

 

Sometimes the taxis run as public transportation in addition to the govt run VITRAN bus. Both public options are iffy for cruise passengers for a number of reasons.

$8 - $11 depending on your port and the beach.

 

Miss Rach you will want to hit 1 beach (2 at the most) on a cruise stop unless you want to tour the east end and compare the beaches. In that case look for a private guide or just hire a taxi.
