I have a 4 hour wait between transfer & boarding in Venice, is there anywhere I can leave our bags so we can do a bit of sightseeing?

I would ask this on the Italy Ports Of Call Board.

If you cannot drop it at the port then there is a left luggage in Pl Roma (fee based)

 

Are you doing a ship's transfer? if so they should let you drop your bags at the port

I might be wrong but I think the OP is saying they have 4 hrs after they arrive in Venice before they can board the ship

OP needs to clarify - transfer from where by whom? 4 hours until official boarding time? There may not be as much time to sight see has they think.
