I'm in that boat. I have a cruise booked 18 months out but I'm unsure if I want to wrap $1000 into gift cards so soon.

My final payment is due in a month. Heck, I wouldn't buy them if I was 18 months out. I already had the money set aside since it's only 4 months away. I wonder how often they offer the gift cards?

They come up frequently. Just need to check often. Even if my cruise was 18 months away I'd still even buy one 100 one here and there to save plus spread the wealth but that's just me. My Oct cruise is paid in full. Gathering 100 ones for the S&S bill. My Jan cruise is getting paid little by little but plan to do it all via gift cards. I just apply them to my cruise via the Web when I get them.

I don't like to pay for things earlier than necessary, so I tend to buy 2 or 3 $100 cards as they become available. Final payment isn't due until mid-October. I know it's not like my money is earning interest in the meantime, but that's just how I am.

Besides, my credit card needs a breather after the Vista sailing and just booking another 13-night sailing as a solo, so got to put down $800 as my deposit. Once I pay off that balance, I may buy a $500 card to apply to final payment.

I also buy a few $100s to take and apply to my S&S as needed. I don't want to apply big amounts and not use them (ha!) and then have to do the cash-out thing because one of the reasons to buy them is so I don't have to travel with wads of cash.

Of course, if I win in the casino, I'll happily travel home with wads of cash! :p

Just tried to use my carnival gift cards to pay off most of the balance of my cruise. It did not go thru saying I did not add my credit card info. I don't want my credit card charged at this time. Must I add it?

Paying with the gift card on the website can be a bit confusing. You must click on the add a gift card link.. Above it add how many $ in gift cards you have (unless paying it off). Then add gift cards... Hopefully that will solve your problem..

Hey, this post says e-Cards but the only ones I've ever seen are regular gift cards that are mailed at 70¢ and not combined shipped

Do they now sell emailed ones??

When this thread was started two years ago, they were offering e-cards. They have long since done away with ecards with this program.

Shipping is .49 per card.

I'd like to buy a few more to add to my S & S account before the cruise. How do I do that on the Carnival website? In essence, I'd like to have a credit balance before i sail.

Can I add money before, if so, how?

TIA
