Deck 6 Balcony Cabins on the Breeze

I've seen several posts about not liking the balcony cabins on Deck 6 on the Breeze. I have a B2B in cabin 6452 beginning Aug 24th and just had a couple of questions. I'll be solo on the first cruise (6 days) and due to great price, I'll be happy no matter what. BUT on the second (8 days) my sister will be in the cabin with me and I just wanted to give her some info.

I realize that deck 5 runs all the way around the ship and that this deck juts out further than deck 6 and that people can look right up into your balcony. My cabin is far aft and I was wondering if any of you could tell me whether there is that much "traffic" on deck 5 in the aft area?

Like I said, I'll be fine no matter what, but my sister doesn't research at all and I just kind of wanted to give her a heads up.

We will be in 6417 in October so I can't speak from experience yet, just thoughts from what I have read and pics I have seen (millions of them it seems as I am the researcher in this family!)

There is nothing I would do on my balcony that I wouldn't want to be "seen" so that is not a problem. This is a cruise with best friend and since we are people watchers we decided deck 6 would be better for us than cove which could tend to feel more isolated than private. I enjoy the privacy and quiet of my balcony but after a little while I am ready to be back where the action is, and hope that deck 6 will provide that!

Please come back and let us know what you think after your cruise. Have a great time!!

Hi, sc4125, we are on the 1st leg of your cruise, also on deck 6. 6463

We did not get a deck choice with our nearly free Casino offer.

So hard to complain because of the price.

I may try to change our location today. If possible.

We'd pay a bit more to move...no problem.

This is because on our Dec. Breeze cruise while walking around deck 5 we looked up and said, OMG....we would never want to be on deck 6/7, but especially 6.

Deck 6 is RIGHT THERE, most literally & everyone walking by does see you.

It's not that we really do anything that we need privacy for ;), LOL.

We just like our privacy very much & don't want to be "on display".

On the plus side, it is close to deck 5, which is fabulous & you can see which hot tubs are empty & run down and jump in :D

Just looked at where your cabin is, you are above the Steakhouse so the noise should not be much of a factor....at least late night.....not sure if you will be awarded any Steakhouse aromas or not.....not necessarily a bad thing...LOL...other than wanting to eat more :p

I on the other hand am now on the phone with Carnival trying to make a change....we are on top of the Piano Bar...Yikes

I'm looking forward to meeting you at the Meet & Greet from the Roll Call!

Mine was also one of those pretty much free Casino rates, so I was good with the cabin & it did help when I saw we were over the Steakhouse. The only think I will do on the balcony that might get me in trouble with other passengers is smoke, which could be really dangerous after reading some of the posts from the rabid anti-smokers (lol). Don't worry, I'm very considerate & don't smoke if I hear anyone out on the next balconies.

I do spend a good bit of time out on the balcony reading & relaxing. Since this first leg of the trip will be a solo cruise, I will probably be spending even more time on the balcony - I'm not good at eating alone for example. But I know I'll have a blast regardless, I just wanted to tell my sister what we could expect.

See ya soon!!

I will let you know. I too love to people watch and I'll be solo on the first leg of the B2B - so sitting out on the balcony and not feeling so alone might be a good thing.

I will definitely let you know how much traffic we encounter when I get back.

Thanks for this thread. We were assigned cabin 6318 and it seems over the corner of the casino/Cherry on Top.

At first I was freaking out, but the more I research, the more I started to like the idea of people watching. I really loved the Boardwalk balconies on both the Oasis and the Allure, so I'm going in with an open mind.:D

For what my opinion is worth on the subject, my husband and I had cabin 6460 on the Carnival Breeze in 2013. We have booked the identical cabin again for our cruise on her in 2015. The cabin is close to the stern of the ship and we loved it! No problems whatsoever. I wouldn't worry about your cabin, if I were you.

It's hard to say what you'll think. Some people on cruises complain about EVERYTHING, and other people just go with the flow. If you're the type of person (and your roommate for the 8-day) that goes with the flow.....you'll have a great time. There will be people walking by, but definately not as much as by the hot tubs and BBQ place. People walk around deck 5 in the morning as an exercise lap track. That wouldn't bother me because I'm not an early riser and I don't drink coffee. Many people love to have a pot of coffee delivered by roomservice and enjoy it on the balcony. On another note, there are lounge chairs all around on deck 5....but people don't really find them until the end of the cruise. Also, anyone that is using those loungers, want peace and quiet...away from the pools, slides and splash park.

I'm the type of person that goes with the flow....BUT.....we use our deck a lot to look at the water and watch for flying fish and dophin. For that reason we booked 8th floor last year and again this year.

Go with the flow and enjoy......because any room on a cruise ship is better than any room NOT on a cruise ship.

The potential concern with Deck 6 is not what's outside, but what's below you. If you're directly over music or eating area, you might encounter a lot of noise after hours. You can view your cabin on Carnival's deck plans and see what's below you.

This is true on all ships for the cabins above Promenade Deck. We never had a problem until a few cruises ago. We were right above the band in the Casino. It felt like they were in our cabin. From that point on, we always allow a 'deck of insulation' when choosing a cabin.

I wouldn't be too concerned. The Breeze is a beautiful ship and you will have a blast!
