Sailing on the Explorer in October 2014. Can we carry bottled water on to ship or does it need to be checked with the luggage?

People have reported bringing bottled water on board either way. But if it is a full case, best to put a luggage tag on it. In most cases I've heard it has not been refused and will be put on board and delivered to your stateroom.

I've seen the person behind me in security put a case through the scanner and had no problem. This was on Explorer. I just remember thinking how odd since the water on the ship is perfectly fine - of course, I started cruising long before the bottled water craze.

If you bring it, put it in something with handles, and slap a tag on it. They will deliver luggage...but may not deliver boxes!

We have taken water both in a carryon and in regular luggage. Keep in mind that there is nothing wrong with the water on the ship. I've been drinking it for years. However my DIL is a bottled water person.

I have carried a 6 pack of sport bottled water with me onto almost every cruise. No one has ever said anything to me about bringing it onboard with me. I've also seen them delivered with luggage tags on them along with the luggage.
