Getaway August 2 Eastern - Dailies, Today Your Way daily inserts, other flyers

Just finished scanning them in: Link (My Google Drive account).

3 documents in total due to scan to email limits, and because I know that some of you want just the dailies. Third pdf includes a couple of Haven docs, Entourage (14-17) schedule, debarkation flyer, plus a couple of additional items.

Note that the Nassau schedule changed slightly for this cruise (I suspect due to other boats that had to change Nassau port dates to match ours), so I'm not sure how that impacted the other events scheduled for that day.

I did submit a review but it hasn't posted yet. It is mostly positive (excellent for food/crew/service/etc), although I did have an opinion about a couple of design elements of the ship (namely the main pool deck (zoo on sea days, not enough pool space on this ship) and the doors to the 678 waterfront (let in constant blasts of hot air and wind - really need air curtains or some other design). I'm also wondering if the casino placement will come back to bite them when the smoking ban takes place since it sits in deck 7, and particularly for those areas around the atrium.

This poster reached some of the same conclusions as I did (he was on the same sailing).

I have a quick question. We happen to have the same comedian booked for several different days (we have 9pm reservations on a few days). Does the comedian do a different set each day, or would we be watching a repeat?

The guy we had did the same material BUT the first show had a bunch of kids in the front rows and it caused about 2/3rd of his show to go off the rails.

The second show did reuse some of the material from the first, but since the kids interrupted him we did get to hear new things.

I would schedule it early and see if the individuals plans to do new material later in the week; I think it is up to them. When on Allure/Oasis over the past year the comedians did use new material later in the week, which they announced. I didn't get the feeling they were required to though.

Also, try and get there early enough to keep kids out of the front row if you can. The show was clean so that wasn't the issue; some of the kids were just being brats. Kudos for the comedian for making it work pretty well regardless.

Like everyone said, the Haven does ruin you for regular cabins. While I cruise mainly Royal at this point, NCL ships with a Haven will be my choice when a deal comes up or it is a major event (like a major wedding anniversary).

It isn't that I need peace and quiet day in and day out, or just want to lounge (heck I love the waterslides and rope course!), I just like pools and hot tubs that are pretty much usable/available when I want. We were literally 7 steps from the Haven courtyard, and about 20 from the Haven restaurant itself. I can't even express how convenient it all was (especially eating breakfast/lunch in the courtyard, steps away from the pool/hot tubs).

We're on B2B cruises on the Getaway next month, 6 & 13 Sept, also in the Haven. Thanks so much for posting the link to those docs!

Thanks for the info!

Was there a Haven Cocktail party or any other gatherings not listed in the Dailies? If so, do you remember the dates/times?

Would you happento know when Dinner with an Officer was is one was picked?

We sail on the Getaway on October 11, 2014. I heard that the dailies rotate or something ... is that true, or will I most likely see the same schedule as you just posted?

We sailed in July and the dailies were the same as in February .!

Only the comedians changed.

There was a change to Legally Blonde due to theatre conflicts also.

But even the drink

Of the day stays the same... With the exception of holidays- like st paddy's day

There is a Haven cocktail party- several of the longer reviews talk about it. It is the first full sea day in Bliss. Punch, champagne and open bar . On the July 19 sailing we had lobster night that night in the Haven .

Not a big fan of Bliss- too dark and I am too old, but JC and the officers were very friendly

The waiters make you take drinks with you when you leave!

They did, however, give my daughter a glass of champagne by accident and I thought she was going to faint- she is not 21 she is 14, looks like 12 and is a total nerd/priss/ slightly Amish.... She was mortified and just stared at it.

We rescued her!

No other Haven parties

Yep, that was my cabin. Not noisy, and very close to the doors to the Haven lounge and courtyard.

A little cramped for 3 people, but that is only really an issue when the bed is out. I would have liked a larger balcony though, as the ones for these cabins don't really lend themselves to breakfast on the balcony (very small table) and they aren't deep enough for a lounger. I've sailed in Royal Junior Suites before so this is something I would notice that others may not.

That aside, I'll take the cabin every time if it means I can afford sailing in the cabin.

Thanks! You were in cabin 16116?

I'm going there next week. What were some of the advantages or disadvantages to this room?

Hmm. We didn't look for them, but they had beer and mojito tastings so there had to be martini tastings as well. They did do martini "flights" where you could order 5 small ones for 1 price.

Thanks for scanning!! I didn't see any Martini tastings listed. Please don't tell me they didn't have any! :(

I wouldn't be surprised if there are slight changes from one sailing to the next, but this is the Caribbean so outdoor activities don't really need to change at all.

I can't see there being too many changes to the major events though (like shows), too many things would need shuffled around.

If anything, I like posting the dailies so people have an idea of what life is like on-board. The only thing I want to know from the dailies is when the water slides and rope course are open. The remainder of my time on-board is spent eating, at bars, at shows, by/in the pool, or at the gym. I'm not one for the daily activities so the dailies aren't very useful to me.

Thanks so much ! That is very helpful. I'm aware if the balcony situation.

One more thing- you had the entourage dailies- did the teen you traveled with enjoy the activities or was it more meet other kids and go off On their own?

An older teen (very close to the cut off age ) is traveling with us

Daughter spent most of the time in the club, she did seem to like the activities. She is 14 (almost 15) so I think she may like it more than an older kid would.

I think that when you are 17 it really depends on what you are into. If you aren't into much but can make friends odds are you'll find something to do there (even if the club activities aren't your thing), but otherwise it might be tough. I probably wouldn't have cared for the club at 17, but my parents rarely traveled alone so I almost always had someone with me I could mess around with.

Thanks again. My older son isn't traveling with us so she gets to be by herself. Usually she finds a bunch if teens and does things with them. She normally doesn't have a problem but it sounds like the getaway skews younger than older in terms of activities.

Any comments on haven, butlers or concierge?
