Hi Disney Mom,

Congrats on getting the package! :) Was this a cruise that you already had an existing booking or was it a new booking? If it was existing, please walk us through how you were able to pull it off!

Equiring minds want to know!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Looking at cashing in for the 50% off fare on an April cruise on Independence, 8 day cruise that is on the "select cruises" list. Full fare is $1459pp. Right now the BOGOHO sale saves $730 on passenger 2 plus gives a $200 OBC. If I elect to take the 50% offer it will save $1459 but won't get the OBC. So, still a $529 savings off the cruise. Obviously taxes and fees of $102.40 apply either way.

I see a lot of grumbling, but I think a $529 savings from playing a free game is still a good deal?

Don't plan to go to Vegas until Fall 2015 so plenty of time to replenish as both DH and I play (I will have 300k after redeeming for the 50% off fare).

Am I understanding this correctly? Wanted to make sure before I redeem and call to book. Thanks!

FYI, I just tried to redeem the Ultimate Beverage Package while booking my March 21 cruise on Quantum of the Seas.

Apparently, NO MyVegas rewards are allowed on Quantum/Anthem. This is despite the MyVegas reward stating "Any Ship, Any Sailing". This was confirmed via 2 calls with Resolutions who was absolutely unable to assist. Since I had them cornered, they pulled out the "Policies subject to change without notice" exit clause. Best they could do was $50 UBC. Pretty upset about it since I followed all the rules.

Anybody else have problems using MyVegas rewards on Quantum/Anthem?

Okay, so I tried to redeem beverage package for cruise booked in March, a group cruise. When I called personally they said I could apply it if booked after August??? then when my travel agent called they said you have to apply the code when you book and you can't use it on group bookings. I don't understand the group bookings because we paid the same amount individual prices would have been....I don't understand the new cruises only because it states then once you use the code on a booking you only have 90 days to use it, that would mean you can't book anything more than a month and a half out...no good for us planners!!! I'm really dissapointed with this one :( BTW, I've read this board for years but am new :)

I can't speak to the group booking piece, but for the 90 days, you need to book the cruise within 90 days of purchasing the reward. You don't have to sail within 90 days. The reward is redeemed once you have booked the cruise

I love myVegas!

Way back in September I booked a Baltic cruise on Brilliance of the Seas using the myVegas 35% off reward which has paid off tremendously as that same cabin would now be more than twice the price we paid (I guess because of the weak Euro against the dollar).

I have since used a myVegas 50% off reward for a Western Med cruise on Allure of the Seas which has also gone up in price by over 500 Euros since I booked.

My question is: do I need to take my MLife card and a print out of the relevant myVegas reward with me when I go to check in? I am expecting you to say no but I was hoping someone who has already done it would know for sure.

Many thanks everyone.

My guess would be no.

I used MyVegas LPs to get BOGO tickets for Zumanity. I called in, did the transaction over the phone and then picked up the tickets at Will Call. Didn't need a mLife card, didn't have one as it was my first time using rewards.

Itching to use my LPs for a 50% cruise.... have nearly enough to do that twice.

Good luck.

Anyone have updates on adding drink packages/OBC to existing reservations? I booked with a TA about a week ago for a February 15th, 2015 sailing aboard Freedom of the Seas. Just wondering if this is worth my time at all.

I have tried and you can't

That's pretty lame. After reading through this thread, it looked like I might have some luck since I booked after August 15th.

I'm still so far from getting anywhere near a reward, so maybe I'll start playing now for future cruises, but it doesn't look like any of these rewards are very useful.

One person had luck aboard the FOS bringing a print-out to customer relations on day one. If I somehow miraculously get that many LPs between now and February 15th, I may just try this. I don't plan on going to Vegas anytime soon anyways.

I'm not usually a basher on comment boards, but I'm so irritated with the useless RC Myvegas "rewards". We had previously used them in Vegas, followed the rules and redeemed with no problem. 2 days ago we booked a cruise at the vacation expo, no one there - travel agents or RC reps, knew anything about redeeming Myvegas. We booked, since they assured us it shouldn't be a big deal to add the rewards when we got home. Today I spoke with the Myvegas desk for RC, and we found out that we can't redeem ANY of our points because we got the sale price and AAA discount. Ok, I totally get this if we were trying to redeem another discount. But we weren't, just wanted the onboard credit, casino play, drink pkg, -- anything! Nope, these rewards cannot combine with ANY other offer. Don't waste your time trying to use them with RC. Use them in Vegas if possible. SCAM!!!!

Respectfully, it clearly new bookings only, so I don't know why you'd term it a "scam". Perhaps you were scammed by the folks at the vacation expo who told you something in order to get their commission. You took the word of someone who admittedly knew nothing about redeeming MyVegas.

No, the rewards aren't as great as they might first seem after you read the fine print (the devil is always in the details)... you also find out you cannot combine discounts.

But, you are entitled to a refund of any chips you used to "purchase" the discount you weren't able to use.

Just talked to C & A......It would cost me $1950 in BOGOHO discount to add the MyVegas Ultimate Drink Package to my October 2015 TA.

$1100 - $1340 on my 7 day cruises in 2015.

They are worthless to me until they allow us to add them at the going rate.

So can you apply this to an existing cruise booking? How does that work? The award says "On new bookings only", but do they seriously expect you to buy the reward, and then book the cruise??

Yes, you buy the reward then call RCCI to get the prices. If you decide not to proceed with the booking because you can get a better deal elsewhere you simply click on the Support link at the bottom of the game page, log in using your Facebook account and raise a support ticket asking for a refund. MyVegas will normally issue a full refund within a couple of days.

The discounts/onboard credit/drink package and free play rewards are not combinable with any other discount so the prices shown on the website are not the ones that will be discounted or applied, this will be the full rack rate.

For example on http://www.royalcaribbean.com/vanity/myvegas there was a 7 day Western Med Cruise on 20th September 2015 shown for 794€ (inside cabin plus tips and taxes), I had a 50% off reward, when I called RCCI the 50% discount was applied to the rack rate and it came out to 574€ (plus tips and taxes), still less than the offer price and therefore worth using. If on the other hand I had wanted to use the Onboard credit voucher I would have had to pay the full rack rate of 1147€ per person to receive a 300$ cabin credit, this would not have been worth doing.

I hope that this helps

That is not necessarily true. The drink packages are available with resident/military/EMT discounts. I am using the Ultimate Beverage Package on my Indy cruise on 2/28 that was booked with Canadian Resident Rate.

Oops sorry Canadian Disney Mum, I only have experience through RCC International and Spanish branches so I suppose the discounts you are talking about simply aren't available over here and unfortunately the ones that are available here cannot be combined with any MyVegas reward :(

No worries. There are a few of us that have been lucky and it worked well for us (I will let you all know how well it worked for me once i get onboard on Feb 28th and have my first drink in-hand!). There were some that were also lucky in the very beginning and were able to bend the rules a bit but MyVegas and RCCL have been sticking to the T&Cs now from what I understand.

It certainly is the case that 99.9% of discounts cannot be used with the rewards. I certainly wouldn't call it a scam as some have previously suggested. It is just a matter of understanding the T&Cs and working with RCCL to see if there is a reward that works for you.

Got a question about the rewards for RCL

Thinking of going for the 50% cruise so when I clicked to see the cruises that are available with these reward there were quite a few

Is the 50% on the price that is listed on that RCL website like it says $539 for an interior so its 50% off that price?

Also if I do redeem that reward could I also use redeem the ultimate drinks reward too or is it just one reward that I can get

You really need to call the 1800# for pricing on these because the discount is off the rack rate so most prices you see online would not be eligible.

so I have to call the royal Caribbean number to get the info or myvegas ?

When you purchase the reward you will get an email with redemption instructions. There will be a toll free number in the instructions. It is a Royal Caribbean dept specific to myvegas from what I understand.

So I called rcl and got a quote for a 7 day southern leaving San Juan on adventure of the seas for $928 2 people including taxes (cdn)

Not bad actually, but the 50% is not off the price on the site, so the site prixe was $599 but the 50% is off $799

Still a saving of around $450

Also asked if my partner can redeem a reward but only 1 reward per booking :(
