MyVegas rewards

I have a couple of questions about this program that I'm hoping someone can answer. I'd like to snag a 50% off reward and was wondering:

1) Does the discount apply to the first two passengers (as opposed to me getting 50% off and my wife having to pay full fare)?

2) Above it was said that there is not a restriction on cabin class... so I can book a suite at half off, right?

3) Does this work on any cruise or only the ones listed on the RC link? The reason for my confusion is at the bottom is says "Don't See the cruise you're looking for? Search all Cruises"

I'm looking at a cruise for next summer and a GS is $2,397.50 pp right now, so 50% off for 500,000 points would be a pretty good deal.

If you click on the reward it gives the details. It says it is 50% off the fare for two.

There is a link somewhere on this post to the RCI/MyVegas cruise list. I just did a search and the page came right up.

Someone else mentioned they used it on a suite (like a Royal Suite or something) so your GS is probably good too.

congrats and good luck

The only gotcha would be that the 50% off is for "select" cruises so the one you are looking at next summer may not ever be one offered for this reward.

See here ...

http://www.royalcaribbean.com/vanity/myvegas

Alternatively you could use the 30% off reward that allows you to select from any cruise within a span of time. For future cruises it's certainly a wait and see kind of thing since they only go out as far as March 2014 right now and that is very limited, more for next few months. I'm hoping more come out for the larger ships.

I redeemed 225,000 Vegas points for drink package was told I could combine that one but not the onboard credit one and when I called back and spoke to someone else to add to my reservation they said I couldn't use UGHH now I have to try and contact MyVegas to see if I can have my points added back on! :(:(:(

Thanks for pointing that out!

We booked a RFS on one of the "select" cruises using the 50% off discount. The bill was calculated showing 50% of the rate for each person. Note that the discount is off of FULL FARE, not necessarily the price being displayed on the web site.

Per a myVegas Q&A session last week it was said that they would be releasing new cruise rewards in the near future so there may be some new options appearing shortly.

Also, the cabin availability can change every day on the select cruises. With the current promotion of Buy One Get One Half Off, the 35% discount is in reality only a 10% discount off of full fare. The 50% off discount, especially on a more expensive cabin, can be a good deal if it is the cruise you want.

Yesterday, I redeemed enough myVegas points for the "Complimentary Ultimate Beverage Package".

I already have a cruised booked (back in May 2014) for January 4th, 2015 on the Allure of the Seas (I'm pretty excited for my first Oasis class voyage). I fully realize that the terms of this promotion state this is for "new bookings only." My plan is to cancel and rebook my trip. The current re-bookable fare for the same category "N" is only $50 more than my current fare total. To pay only $50 more (plus several thousand myVegas) points to save nearly $400 on an Ultimate Beverage Package seems like a good deal. Does anyone see a flaw in my logic?

To go a little further, I actually attempted to do just that... but RCI said no. :( Even if I rebooked, they said the "Ultimate Beverage Package" is not combinable with the "WOW" BOGO rate. Frustrating because NOWHERE in the terms of the "Ultimate Beverage Package" can I find a "rate disclaimer". (Note: A rate disclaimer is clearly visible in the "$200 On-Board Credit" promotion for example.)

Does anyone have experience/knowledge using the "Ultimate Beverage Package" on a newly booked cruise using the "WOW" BOGO sale?

They did remove the restrictions on the Beverage Packages from what they initially stated in their specific Terms and Conditions when they were first made available. Either the cruise line agents didn't get the change or myVegas was in error in changing the terms. With any sort of logic most of the cruise rewards are useless since just about everyone takes advantage of one sort of discount, special, or promo on booking their cruise fare.

I see no flaw in your logic. I do the same thing when comparing a lower rate vs. lower or no OBC... what matters is the net outcome.

And no, it says nothing about not valid with other discounts, just that it needs to be at least 30 days prior, and 90 days before.

As utwofan says, if they insist on new booking with full fare, then nobody is going to be able to use it. Maybe try calling and get a different agent, that seems to work with all sorts of things. When I inquired with an C&A agent, she hadn't even heard of the MyVegas deals.

Thanks for the replies to my question...

I plan to be politely persistent. I will try a couple different RCI agents. I'll attempt to escalate and I'll offer to show them the actual terms on the "Ultimate Beverage" versus the "$200 OBC" to see if it sways anyone. Also, I'll try to reach customer service on the myVegas side (easier said then done) and ask how certain they are of accurately capturing the RCI T&Cs.

I don't plan to "hold my breath"... because I feel I have only a 10% shot at success... but I promise to share what I learn.

If it is of any help this is the link to start a myVegas Support request: http://support.myvegas.com/access/unauthenticated?flash_digest=ab7b0922d0c88e97d570113d6703cf739aacfdee&user%5Bemail%5D=utwofan@yahoo.com#login

For some reason they no longer send emails in reply to support requests (at least in many recent posts I have read as well as several of my own). You need to "sign-up" for their support system first at the link above. You will need your Facebook ID address (what is displayed on your Facebook Home page on the addresss line). It will be something like http://www.facebook.com/michael.l.smith.14.

Once you submit your support request you need to go to your support page and in the upper right corner (under your name) open the "activities" menu. That is where you will see the "status" of your request and any replies.

Good luck.

If your cruise isn't until Jan. 14, then it is too soon to redeem the coupon - has to be within 90 days and that only puts you into 1st of Jan right now. But if you are just on a fact-finding tour, then yes please share your results. My cruise is the end of November so I would love to know -- even though I don't yet have enough LPs to cash in for the Ultimate. Hopefully I will next month.

Just looked at the available "select' cruises and now showing 96. Link here: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/vanity/myvegas

Unfortunately(for me) it looks like they no longer offer cruises from Baltimore.

Notice the new ones too, but is it just me or do they all seem to be for the higher priced sailings. Suppose if that is a time you really want to go it's all good but the cost of some of these are higher than what I paid for a celebrity cruise balcony room with drink package

Have to sit back and see what else they come out with as time passes. The 30% off for any cruise may still be better for me.

  • 2 weeks later...

I am sure everyone who calls will get a different answer, but i was just told by the MyVegas Royal Caribbean number that if you booked your cruise AFTER Aug 25, you can add a reward to the existing booking. If you booked prior to that date, you would have to cancel & rebook at the prevailing rate. We booked the Nov 29th sailing on the Oasis back in February. I was calling trying to redeem an Ultimate Beverage package and was told it was impossible (they even checked with a supervisor & 2 different departments) because of the date coding in the system. She said if I booked after August she could have just popped the code in the system and it would work. I am 95% sure she is wrong, but it will be nice if she was right and some of you booked after Aug 25 & want to use rewards without cancelling & rebooking.

(I am assuming what she said (if true) would only apply to the casino cash, drink packages etc. It would not work for the % off ones.)

Some help in grabbing more chips and LP:

Join MyVegas Add Me to find friends for the purpose of increasing your daily bonus (it maxes out at 500% when you've got 51 friends also playing).

https://www.********************/440368222731967/

Create a List called "gamers". Restrict this group from seeing anything on your wall or being able to post to your wall. When you get friends from the above group, put them into your list. When you win coins in MyVegas and it asks to share, post your shares to the gamers list only. This does two things: Only the people who are playing it see it. Which means you don't annoy your other friends with all the spam.

Follow James Hite: https://www.facebook.com/james.hite.98?fref=ts

(No need to friend him) Every day James posts links to get coins and sometimes LPs. It's usually about 5000 coins a day.

Use auto-collector to pick up coins your friends share from the game. https://apps.facebook.com/auto-collector/?fb_source=bookmark&ref=bookmarks&count=0&fb_bmpos=_0

Run it a couple times a day and it will go thru your feed and hit the links for the 50, 101 and 201 coins that your Vegas friends are leaving for you.

You might want to be careful on this part - there have been instances where MyVegas has closed people's accounts for using Auto collectors. It is apparently against the T&Cs.

Sorry, I'm a bit late to this thread but I booked the 35% off for a cruise next June in the Baltic. It was 35% off the full rate not the advertised rate at the time. It still saved me about 200€ per person though.

When I booked it the very helpful chap at the end of the phone said that if a better offer came up I was to call him and he would honour that instead, of course I would then have lost the lps for the 35% off then the lps for say the Comp Companion reward. Since I had nearly 2,000,000 lps I have plenty to spare so I'm waiting for Harwich to be added to the departure ports. I notice that Barcelona and Copenhagen have recently been added so now I wait and watch.

Apparently the free slot play IS combinable with other offers but I haven't put that to the test yet.

When they first released the rewards there was also a free bottle of wine if you bought a dining package which I could have used if RCI had started selling dining packages for my cruise yet, unfortunately that won't be until approx April next year by which time the 90 day period would have expired. I had to have it credited but I'm watching for it coming out again next year. :)

Thanks to MyVegas I saved a ton of money when I went to Vegas at Christmas 2012 and now again on my Baltic cruise. I love it!
