kiosk in Miami

Someone on my roll call had posted about planning on using the kiosk for our upcoming sailing (Oct 5). I assume that they had done their research on it still being there. I remember they had posted a CC article about its existence, but I believe it was from 2012. If it is no longer there it would be good to know so I can spread the information to my roll caller planning to use it.

Thought that I had asked this before but cannot find the answer. We fly in the day before, can I go back to the airport and check in there? Thinking it would be faster and easier? Anyone know the taxi fare for 10 of us?

Kiosk is only available the day of embarkation, according to friemds who flew in 2 days early.

According to the Miami airport site there are counters for carnival and other cruise lines in the baggage claim area

Checking in/getting s&s cards there would be awesome so hopefully they are operational in a few weeks when we sail!

Does Carnival still has self check in kiosks in Miami?

Here is how it works…

· Guests retrieve their luggage at baggage claim and are directed to their corresponding check-in counter at Concourse ‘D’ or ‘H’, based on flight arrivals.

· Guests check-in for their cruise, receive a Sail & Sign card and a boarding card that reads ‘Airport Expressso that we can easily identify them when they arrive at the cruise terminal. Guests who wish to use cash for their Sail & Sign deposit will be instructed to stop by one of the cruise terminal check-in counters or use an on board Sail & Sign kiosk.

· Guests who did not pre-purchase our optional transportation service are given the option to purchase transfers to the pier during their check-in process.

· Guests must take their luggage with them whether using our transportation service or other means.

· When guests arrive at the pier, they are directed to our ‘Airport Express’ security lane for a quick photo ID check and Sail & Sign check.

· Next, embarkation pictures, A-pass and boarding!

Hours of operation for airport check-in: 8:00am-2:00pm (on the day of sailing)

Have a wonderful time!

Anything to help out. It is really awesome that people coming into the airport can check in before going to the pier.

Keep in mind that checking in at the airport may not be quicker. There are only 3 or 4 people working and I noticed the lines were very long at times. I was camped out for about 3 hours while waiting for friends to arrive. But if the line is short, go for it. No way would I even consider taking the shuttle back to the airport from a hotel just to go there to check in though.
