B2B?? Would Carnival Tell??

OMG!!! I don't want their first born or their social security number...I'm not looking for their names or cabin number or their yearly income.

I'm just saying it would be nice to meet at the beginning of the first leg instead of the picture at the end of the first leg. That way, IF they too, wanted to see a familiar face throughout the cruise, compare notes, or have a drink.....they could.

AND....I am talking on both boards and have met some nice people. GOD!!!! Don't be so judgemental!!!

I have to laugh at this thread. You just know there's going to be a few come out of the woodwork and be taken aback by anyone who just wants to meet other people. I'm with you GOD!!! Don't be so judgmental! By now you should know that people are.:D

The title of your post is: "Would Carnival Tell". That and your post indicate that you want to find out about other people sailing B2B on the same cruises you are. I answered both parts of your question.

It would be nice to if you thought more about your titles and postings rather than bemoan, roll eyes, or feel you are being attacked by others who answer your question. Then you wonder why people are "mean" when you respond as you did to my posting.

Take care,

Mike

I was thinking the same thing. The op is getting angry and started another thread about people being mean when all that happened was posters answered their question. The title of the thread clearly asks "would carnival tell". It makes no sense to call people mean for answering that question and then deny asking it in the first place.

We're on a B2B in January 2015. So far, no one on our CruiseCritic boards (I'm on both dates) are doing the same B2B that we are.

I wish there was a way to find out if anyone else is doing the same B2B. I know we'll all be escorted off the ship after the first cruise and then escorted back on the ship to get our next week's room keys. It would be fun to meet and see whomever throughout both cruises.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I could find out?

Gee, I read post #1 and interpreted it that you simply were curious about back to back people and wondered how you could be in touch with them.

What was wrong with asking if Carnival would reveal the answer or not? What was wrong with that question? It was just a question with no ulterior motive. Why the vicious answers and remarks?

It seems that anymore you aren't able to say anything on these boards without being bashed or made to feel that way.....I think the old saying if you don't have anything nice (and productive should be added to) to say then shut the f*** up...I'm sorry I mean than you shouldn't say anything at all.

I use to love this board but rarely come here anymore except for my roll calls because of people and their attitudes of perfection...I hope you meet some wonderful people on your cruise and I hope you have a nice one...one day I hope to do a b2b too.

Now let the bashing begin

I agree it is a shame people are like this.

There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong in asking this question.

However, if someone answers the questions and includes that Carnival does not/or should not release information. Then say their reason why, the OP should not go off thinking EVERYONE is being rude and then responding to an answer in a rude manner. A posting has two parts: The title and the body. If the title is a question then, most people will answer the title question and the questions in the body of the post.

There has really only been one semi-rude posting in this entire thread and that's what set the OP off.

I do believe rudeness goes both ways.

Take care,

Mike

Why do you want to meet the other B2Bs? We've done B2Bs and would not care to have that shared without our knowledge.

That being said, Carnival did take a picture of all the B2Bs on turn-around day and provided several glasses of Champagne. Later we had a bottle and strawberries delivered to our room.

But again, Why do you want to know this?

Started with this tone, then..

Would you want Carnival to share your info? Once you had their names, then what? Do you randomly call all the Jane and John smiths you can find? Post their names here in hopes they might see it? I'd be pissed if carnival shared my name with another passenger.

and escalated to a personal tone...

Personally, I doubt any cruiseline could legally give out that information. One thing you might try is asking them once you get onboard to put a note in the Fun Times. If they can't, then at least you tried.

Carnival should not release this information. I believe they would open themselves up to a lawsuit if they did. I know I do not want any information, including my name, sailing date and ship, released to anyone, without my permission.

There are times we love being with a group but there are other times we just want to do our own thing.

The best you can do is put out a Roll Call here, and on other sites, for the B2B and see if anyone responds.

Take care,

Mike

Mike,

Your advice isn't bad, but I personally would not care if Carnival released my future cruise ships and dates; they are in my signature here and as such they are considered public information. It wasn't too long ago that you could call a hotel and ask if so and so had check in yet and they would look them up and tell you when they were to arrive.

Our society has become so open on social media, but so closed minded and ready to take legal action if a company shares any information. Pretty much all of us cruise for vacations and relaxation as opposed to medical trips; I fully understand that medical facilities are required to limit public access to who, what, where, and when, but since when has corporate America, outside of healthcare, became the protectors of our secrecy and privacy?

'Who is sailing with me?' That's an innocent enough question; granted he may be planning to send thugs to their homes while they are away and steal everything not nailed down, but odds are they're just curious like the rest of us about who's going to be their next sailing friends.

jkjmt,

Best of luck to you; B2B cruisers are more rare than you may expect, but there will be a few each sailing. Hopefully they will plan ahead and know what to expect, but if not and you find them, you will be able to offer them quite a bit of advice about what to do on turnaround day and about not trying to cram too much in to each week.

There are days here on CC that you could state that you were walking down the street and found $100 bill and people will find fault in whatever you decided to spend it on, or even whether you should have picked it up. There will be those that say you could have thrown your back out bending over and even more that will say you should have spent more time trying to find the rightful owner and then donated it to charity. Personally I'd say you should have spent more time looking around for more; perhaps a five minute walk in each direction and careful observation of nearby bushes in case the wind had blown some away.....:p

That's it!!!!! Exactly!!! Thank you for putting it into the right words and context.

On our recent Norwegian cruise, they did have a meet and greet on turn around day for the people doing B2B cruises (but there were 500 people doing a B2B so that might be why, and I did hear at least one person say that they didn't realize that a 7-day cruise was an option because everything they saw online listed it as a 14-day cruise). I haven't ever seen this on a Carnival ship.

I may be wrong, but I don't think that you have to leave the ship after your first B2B leg. I think that guest services will have you go to a room on the ship during debarkation, and give you your new sign and sail card there for your second leg.

I had a B2B on Carnival, got off the ship, went through customs, went back to check in and they couldn't find my next sign and sail card. It was on the ship at guest services waiting for me. Someone told me later about my info in my first paragraph.
