Back 2 back cruise

Recommended Posts

A couple of years ago a crew member explained how the back to back worked. She said all passengers met In a specific area and were all taken as a group to clear customs and get new sea pass cards then brought back on board. The whole process took about 10-15 minutes.

Can you stay on board during disembarking
Sometimes, but you will at least have to ding off with your old card and back on with your new card, usually has a group as the ship has to have a zero passenger count on the old cruise before it can start boarding for the new cruise. Twice this past year in the USA on B2B's I did not have to leave the ship.

On Oasis last week in Barcelona we didn't even get to 'ping' off..... they took our old cards.... we hung out in Studio B.... they gave us our new cards. Actually not clear what the process for those who went in to town that day.... they had to be off the ship by a certain time so they could get a zero count.... they must have given them their new cards at GS prior to disembarking.

The last time we did a B-2-B with turn-around in Barcelona, those going ashore were given their new Sea Pass Cards before they left the ship. they then "dinged-out" like everyone else and re-boarded when they were returning to the ship.

You had it a lot better than we did after the TA ending in BCN. We met in the dining room at 9:00. Around 9:45 we were given our new Seapass cards. We then had to ding out and go into the terminal to get our passports stamped. We then had to have a seat in the terminal. About 11:15 we were allowed to go back to the ship.

During our b2b for our 12 day Hawaii to Vancouver, coming off the Transpacific, we were able to go to Guest relations and pick up our new cards around 6:30 AM to 9 AM then had to exit the ship, those who went after 9 AM had to meet in the dining room and go off as a group. From that I guess it depends on the port so each is handled differantly.

We didn't have to get off on Serenade in San Juan. One person had to go down and pick up the new cards between 8 and 9 AM. Then we went back to sleep, because it was pouring down rain. :)

That's right. We had to give them our old cards, so I guess they dinged us off.

We did not even have to get out of bed. We were staying in the same stateroom. On Radiance last Christmas we gave our passports & new set sail passes to JD in the CL. If you're not eligible for the CL or DL, you can give them to GS. There was a designated person handling this.

The new cards and 'In transit' passes were delivered to our stateroom the night before.
