Quick Pride 2.0 Review

We are also on the Pride November 30th, with some 1st time Carnival cruisers and hope we didn't build it up too much. We have been planning this for almost a year and we had a choice between the Sunshine and the Pride. As we had been on the Sunshine twice we thought this would be a nice change. We will have a good time as the whole family will be together, I just don't want lots of issues to pop up.

Let's hope all the kinks are worked out in the next 9 days.

Thanks for the comments. How was the piano bar and player?

Like many piano bar pianists, he was a much better piano player than singer. Also, his style was pretty much honky-tonk.

I should also mention that the piano bar was surprisingly cold. We really needed jackets in there.

hi any bets on what time the pride will leave the dock from tampa on the 30th of nov. 4-5-6-7-8-9- what is your guess?

Who Cares what time it leaves Once your on it.. That has no effect what I do on the ship the first day. I will still enjoy my first day whether it leaves on time or 4 hours later... Only Issue I would have if it came back EARLY... If it came back late.. WHO CARES... That means longer vacation on ship, and my Vehicle will still be waiting for me at the parking area...

If there's sales tax in Florida we will be paying tax on any drink(s) we purchase while docked in Tampa. The shops won't be open for me to go shopping. Coming back late, yeah, who cares! :D

well some of us do care, we do not want to sit in tampa 4 to 6 hours when we should be out at sea. maybe you don't care or maybe you would if you were on the ship?i hope carnival pays you well to take its side. carnival need to hire more crew to get the ship loaded and cleaned up . and crew to bus the tables on the lido so the guest do not have to clean the tables them self.maybe you should read the reviews from last week. YES SOME OF US DO CARE

this will be the 1st time i will opp out of auto tip. i will tip on the service i rec. bad sev. bad tip good sev. good tip but nothing auto this cruise .just so you know i have been on 10 cruises and hold a gold card with carnival. but i do not like the reviews i have read about the pride. carnival needs to step up and take a look at what is going on it is just not right for the guest to have to suffer because carnival did not have a crew that knows its jobs.

I understand the excitement of wanting your cruise to start and leave the dock, but how does leaving late impact your vacation? All the hotel services are still open. If you are anxious to play at the Casino I can understand you wanting for them to open, which they can't while docked.

How does leaving late, which probably won't impact your itinerary, cause so much fuss?

Why are you pre-punishing the hardworking crew members that are there to serve you when you haven't even set one foot on board yet?

Maybe I should read the reviews from last week? I'm on one of the threads right now! I have read every review from last week and I'm not nervous at all about what I have seen. Everything that has been stated is typical of any ship just entering service, coming back from a dry dock, or repositioning cruise. It's not alarming at all. I wish Carnival paid me to be a so called "cheerleader" but unfortunately I still have to pay them to vacation. Walt why don't you become more active in our roll call? I'm sure your chipper attitude will get everyone in a great mood for cruising.

well i guess a dirty ship, no place to sit on lido unless you clean your own table,t,v, that do not work, food cold,6 hours late getting out of port, getting off ship at ports. crew not knowing what they are doing because they are new, shows no good. is just part of coming out of dry dock. well that is not o.k. with me. i guess you think we have to train the crew in tampa so it will be ready for the next port . i will have a good cruise thank you however carnival is wrong doing this to its guests.greed is a funny thing from what i read they have all ready lost about 20 guest i will see after the cruise if my name is added to the list. not looking good so far. hope i am wrong.

20 guests lost is a little exaggerated from the 3 reviews that have been posted. Also that was just the first cruise. Sure the second cruise left port late but no reports of the ship being dirty by those people yet. There's still another sailing before we even go on ours. It just seems like you're getting all worked up before you know what it's going to be like onboard. I still don't get how the ship leaving late is going to make your cruise any less enjoyable unless you're a gambler. Even the shops not being open have no bearing on anything because they're going to be open all week to buy the same cheap stuff they sell at high prices. Again all of your points to removing automatic tips aren't the people who you tips fault. They're all issues for guest services. If food was cold every night in MDR then maybe your server did something wrong but once or twice it's probably on the cooks/expeditor. Also shows being no good has been a common complaint since the 2.0 upgrades have been put into place so that isn't just the Pride. Will see how it is on 12/7 though when we get back into Tampa after a week on the Pride to see if they're improving or not.

We were on the 11/9/14 sailing and yes there were many issues that I posted on another thread. We thought the service in the MDR was the highlight of our cruise. We left the auto tip in place and gave our servers another $40. The wife gave the cabin steward and extra $20. He tried but it took most of the week to resolve the issues in the cabin. Heck I washed the filthy balcony furniture myself-- no one tipped me !I learned my lesson and will never book another ship just out of drydock-- can't say that I did not know better but this week worked for us time wise.I am sure lots of the problems will be worked out in the near future but this cruise did leave a bad impression on me. Think we will,go back to HAL next time.

My post only applies to those who have yet to sail on the Pride, but seriously some people are so glass half empty that it's alarming. I am confident I will have a great sailing this week as we head out tomorrow. For those who are convinced already that it will be terrible from start. To finish, please avoid the good looking bald man so I'm even more sure to have a blast.

Some people love to be miserable, and need a constant focus of blame as to why they're not having more fun in life or that life isn't fair in general. I however, and not one of them and stay dry even when surrounded by people bathing in their own misery.

hi i to wish you a great cruise on the pride on the 23th. i only wish you were on the pride on the 9th 1st cruise after dry dock.

I'd like to know what the 23th is. I may have missed that day in school though. Since were theoretically wishing people being on not the best cruises in the world, I wish you were on the Triumph disaster cruise so you would have hopefully found a new line to cruise and complain about things that may not even happen on the cruise, on their boards.

Seriously Walt, you wish others a bed experience because yours wasn't what you expected? That is ridiculous, and you probably blame Carnival for the rain we had in Florida today. I feel sorry for those around you, if this is how you live your life daily.
