Port Canaveral to add at least 4 new cruise terminals

MCO maybe cheaper to fly into but I sure wish it was closer to the port. Ground transport was very disorganized on Nov 15 for Explorer's first disembark. There were other problems as well, hopefully things get smoother. Hopefully new terminal improves things.

Give it another chance, the Explorer was a repositioning, 100% needed travel help. As a weekly, much smoother

I may have miss spoken. :o

Apparently, it may be swapping back and forth between 10 or 6 until 1 is finished. Doesn't sound fun

Which means that PC only has to add 180,000 passengers/year to match Miami.

That equates to the equivalent of one additional ship doing 7-night itineraries and carrying ~3461 passengers/cruise, or one ship doing a mix of 4 and 5 night cruises carrying an average of 2465 passengers/cruise.;)

So just one more sailing of a Mega Ship to make up the difference?

I know more than a sailing but they feel like 180K people on board ;)

I live just north of Tampa and have gone out of Miami, Everglades, Tampa and just returned from my first one out of Canaveral. The majority of my Florida port experience is from Miami and Everglades but the more easily reached Tampa and Canaveral locations are just too convenient to warrant heading down Alligator Alley(I-75) 5 hours and dealing with the traffic and insanity down there if it can be avoided.

Now...my first experience at Canaveral...absotively loved it on all counts.

Hotel, parking, shuttle, ships, terminal/luggage and customs...the best and most efficient I've ever experienced. Yes there were lines departing on Sunday due to the fact there were 4 ships and it was a large ship but it was incredibly impressive the way it was handled. We were in the 8:30 wave coming off the ship(FoS) and were loaded up and shuttled back to our car, on the road by 9:40.

Canaveral even beats Tampa which I love.

With the ever increasing cost of air travel and $30-50 per bag charges we look for more trips we can drive to, as do many on the east coast and in the South. 2 cruises out of Charleston & 2 Disney cruises in the last 6 years continues to have more and more appeal for me out of Port Canaveral. If they can get some 10 day cruises from there I will be a frequent visitor as it's only a 9 hour drive. :D Charlie
