Family and I are going to Alaska in June on the Westerdam .

Looking to get your insight on this ship. Best spot for sail away etc...

You have picked a great ship! Our favorite sail away spots are on deck outside the Crow's Nest or on the aft deck near the pool.

We have quite a few sailing days on the Westerdam including Alaska. She is a great ship.

If you have a beautiful day -- then be by the aft pool for sail-away. Otherwise -- be inside the Crow's Nest.

We have cruised on the Westerdam twice (including 1 round trip out of Seattle) and will be on her June 6 sailing to Alaska, this time with our 2 granddaughters. I agree with everything Mollyanne and Krazy Kruzers said above, but we have always enjoyed sail-aways from our balcony.

Westerdam is a lovely ship...... We enjoyed sailaway either on our verandah or at aft pool on a pretty day. :)

I vote for your verandah if you have one, next would be the Crows Nest and third would be the aft pool deck. Westerdam is a great ship and Alaska is amazing, have a wonderful cruise.

For some really nice pictures leaving vancouver you go past Stanley park and under the stunning lions gate bridge so my first choice would be the aft deck :)

Absolutely! You get an unhindered view of the bridge and all around you - and people waving from the bridge. I must say - though I am somewhat biased:o - that Vancouver ranks up there amongst the most scenic ports to sail from.

We are on the Westerdam June 13, Have been several times to Alaska, The Westerdam is one of the best ships.
