Rare TracieABD Posted January 11, 2015 Author #51 Share Posted January 11, 2015 A really great offer. Wow! They must have needed that cabin on the Sapphire pretty darn badly. They needed 4 balcony cabins- BAD. I am not sure why they overbooked, but, yes, desperation was the word of the day. What surprises me is that they did not pursue the people who live in Singapore and Australia harder, as this is not as far, far away. The offers were extended to some Americans, Canadians, and Russians. I am not sure if they found 3 other cabins. Truth be told, we were really sweating that 23 hour flight with my mom. She broke her hip on October 31 and is still not fully healed. It was going to be hardship. In the end, I think it worked out for the best. dstables Posted January 11, 2015 #52 Share Posted January 11, 2015 Or this one:http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1950107&highlight=royal+enclave This started out as a Bon Voyage thread for Dave and morphed into his "live from" on his b2b in 2013. It is almost 1100 posts with lots of pictures and information. Hopefully, this is what you are looking for! That's the one! Thank you so much😀
mamaboss Posted January 11, 2015 #53 Share Posted January 11, 2015 Thanks, Dave. Funny you should post this, because I just reread your "Bon Voyage" thread this afternoon (all 1096 posts- whew). I really wanted to get psyched about our upcoming trip, and get some of questions answered. I loved the photos and the accomanying narrative. I had forgotten that I had asked (well, nagged) you to take pictures of the Enclave for me. I am definately going to attempt a pass to it. I'll report back on its merits. Tracie-Lynn PS. You are right. I do need to change my signature, especially since I did not take either cruise! And, yes, I will add the Royal. Congrats on the offer! I would also take that in a minute! Just want to put my 2 cents in regarding the enclave on the Royal. I thought it was phenomenal! I balked at the cost but did it anyway and was so happy I did! I really loved the ship but enclave was my favorite part!

As tacky as this is, my I inquire to the rate? I am just budgeting a bit!:)

I am just budgeting a bit!:) Not tacky at all! Everyone has a budget of some sort. I believe it was 180.00 each for the 7 day cruise. I can't readily find my statement of charges but I believe that's correct. Like I said that much wasn't in my budget but I did it anyway. Lol I would totally budget for it if I had to give something else up! (Which I did, the casino) Everyone has their own idea of relaxation. Enclave is mine! I am not much of a gambler. I don't drink. I typically only eat in a specialty venue once per cruise. I don't do much in the way of spa treatments. So the TS or in this case, the Enclave, is my splurge. This is how I KNOW I am on vacation!

yndygo Posted January 13, 2015 #62 Share Posted January 13, 2015 How anyone could be critical of that is beyond me!! What an awesome turn of luck :) You'll get on your Singapore cruise some day - but meanwhile, that is a total jackpot! Enjoy your 2 "make up" cruises in the suites!! Rare Woobstr112G Posted January 14, 2015 #65 Share Posted January 14, 2015 Details:We gave up a 10 night cruise out of Singapore in a BD. We got: Full refund via refundable OBC + 500 300 in change airline fees 10 day cruise in US, Mexico, Caribbean in a full suite 15 day cruise anywhere in the world in a full suite. My mom broke her hip 2 months ago, and she was worried about the 23 hour flight to Singapore, so this made a lot of sense. What would you have done? Now that is what I call an offer. I'd probably, if DW gave the nod, take it.....:):):) Bob
