Epic Self Disembarkation in Miami?

Depends on when you get in line. If at 7:00, you can be out of the building in 20-30 minutes. That timeframe holds for getting in line by 7:30. We've always departed by then. Don't wait until you're called. Don't take the elevator unless you do so about 6:00.

Once that line starts moving, it goes really quickly. We got in line around 7:20 and were off the ship 20 minutes later. We were weaved all over the place into the casino, and such. We thought it would take forever, but it doesn't.

We waited until we were "kicked off" the ship around 9:45. We walked right off the ship into the terminal and then we were met by the longest customs line I have ever seen. Probably took and hour?

We were not in any hurry as our flight was at 3 pm.

I'm sure there is someone that has done the Express Walk-off with their luggage in Miami disembarking the Epic. What time did you get off the ship?

Thanks!

we just did it last sunday as a matter of fact.... it went faster than I figured, but we went sure how it was done so we disembarked at 8:30 am and was behind a lot of others also and the elevators were not working well so we all lugged the luggage down flights of stairs yuk hope its better the next time around in November on the Escape.

You will disembark from deck 6, by Headliners, I believe. Last month on the Epic, we left our room at 8:30 a.m. and were through customs and waiting for our shuttle to Fort Lauderdale by 9. Fastest disembarkation ever! Yes, we did the self-disembarkation with our luggage.

We just got off of the Epic yesterday. :( We were in line at 7:10 and we were off the ship at 7:20, through customs and in a cab by 7:30 and at the airport and checked in by 8. We disembarked from deck 6 and that is where you want to be to get in line.

I had to walk the opposite way of people lined up to disembark. I don't remember why I had to go that way. I think I was trying to get to an elevator to get some breakfast. Anyway it was mass confusion trying exit by the casino. People were queued up everywhere in seemingly every direction.

We had breakfast then went over by Maltings & the "library" & sat in the huge ornate chairs. I read a book. Everybody else played on their phones. Around 9:45 when we could no longer see people lined up to get off we walked off. The customs line wasn't that bad. We were off before 10:30.

Thanks so much...especially ErinG. It is great to know exactly where to be. I am traveling with other family that I have to get to the airport in Tampa so we want to make sure we have plenty of time. It shouldn't be an issue but we would rather be one of the first off the ship.

Thanks again!

  • 2 weeks later...

We left the ship at around 9:15. We had no problem taking the elevator down from deck 9. We were off the ship quickly, but had to wait in line for customs for about half an hour. We were able to get a taxi straight away and were in our hotel in Miami beach before 10:30.

We were in the Haven, so we got to skip the long line threading through the ship, but we went down between 7:15 and 7:30 (probably closer to 7:30) and were off the ship waiting for our transportation before 8:00.

Once in the port, we took the escalator down (you need to have one hand free for the railings) and this jumped us ahead of some people waiting for the elevator.

Our trip to FLL was very quick with no traffic.
