Leaving From VCE

Hi. I am reading horror stories about flying out of Marco Polo airport in Venice after our cruise. We will be on an 11:30 am usair flight in business class to phl. I have a few questions about check in.

Can we print our boarding passes the night before like u do in the states?

If we only have carry on luggage, do we need to stand in the check in counter lines?

If we can not print pass from ship are there us air kiosks to use?

Is there a priority security line for business class?

How early for the flight should we arrive?

Thanks!

You don't mention which airline you are flying but I've flown out of Venice three times.

-We've been able to print our boarding passes the day before (Air Canada and Lufthansa).

-Yes, Mina is correct, you still need to check in at the counter to show your passport.

-Don't recall if there are Kiosks, sorry.

-No separate security line for Business calls

-As early as possible! Flying out of VCE has always been a painful experience (but so is FCO). Long lines that move slowly are the norm (again, may be different depending on which airline you fly). Best to get off the ship early and just head to the airport (IMHO).

Last June when flying Lufthansa out of VCE for a flight at around 11 we had arranged for a private car to take us from the San Basilio Terminal to the airport Arrived to see a very long check in line. Luckily there WAS a premier/ priority check in line and we were able to get in that . It still took 20 minutes but the other line took an hour according to friends we saw running up to the gate as we boarded.

Thank you, all. We will set the private car pick up for 7:45 am for the 11:40 flight. Since these are ff tickets do not want to risk missing the flight plus we can just hang at the airport. We are flying us air.

The OP mentioned US Air in their first post, so that means a non-stop to the US. Far different from any Lufthansa flight out of Venice, which is essentially domestic. Doubt the OP will be able to print a boarding pass.

We were able to print our passes for Delta the night before. The trip to the airport is not that long and they don't open the line more than 3 hours before your flight, so if you get there by 8:30, you will be ok. It is confusing when you first disembark. Be sure to have a phone that works and a number to call of your driver.

Thank you. We will leave at 8 am then and if we are only 10 to 20 mins early for the counter to open that will be fine. Sounds like we need to get Europe coverage on our phone for the duration of the cruise. Thank you for that reminder.
