What to call her?

I just hope they don't choose a name that is hard to live up too, i.e. the Dream which was then called the nightmare :eek: :D

 

I can't wait to go on my first ever cruise. Sounds like I'm in for a treat;)

Not long to go now and Thomson in a few weeks will make an anouncement about their

next announcements which may or not include the ships new name .

 

I think they are torn between two names for the ship .

A toss up between " MAYBE " or the hot favourite "THIS-TIME":rolleyes:

 

Things that will be different on MV Thomson THIS-TIME /MAYBE

 

1-Great Discounts For Solo Cruisers

 

2-Free Room Safe and Fridge

 

3- All You Can Eat Steak ..Under the... stars /Cover/Where you like ..Free

 

4-Choose Your Own Cabin ..and Thomson will pay you £42 for saving them the job .

 

5-Golf Course will be conveted to an allotment (so you can grow your own sprouts )

 

6-Tea And Coffee 24 Hrs self serve and new to Thomson a Draught Marmite Dispenser.

 

7-Showtime ...Apart from dressing rooms and the stage, Choose your own seat ..No Charge.

 

Yes folks it's all true ,a rep from Thomsons said when asked about the above seven .......

Sorry to all my Scottish friends - might come over a bit tactless - it wasn't meant to be at your expense - but a dig at Thomson's poor customer response to a large and unhappy customer base whose needs aren't being met! (I really do have every sympathy for you - it's not really a joking matter! :o)

Kruzze I doubt anyone north or south of the border ever thought you meant it any other way other than a bit of fun .

It's obvious you were joking ... 5 Kg free ...really ;):D

 

No 10.... Large outdoor TV screen playing loop tapes of Jeremy Clarkson just for Stevie :)

But in true Thomson style it would be coin operated via a .50p slot :eek:

I think it will stay as Splendour.....at one time Louis was going to buy NCL Dawn for Thomson, but it fell through and so they bought Costa Europa instead, but kept the Dawn name....majesty also stayed from NCL, so unless RCI want to use Splendour again, I think it will stay. RCI will still part own it, won't they?

 

The Costa Europa is still owned by Costa and leased to Thomson as the Thomson Dream on a 10 year lease from 2010, with an option to purchase her kicking in this year.

 

Louis did go ahead and purchase the Norwegian Majesty from NCL, which they now lease to Thomson as the Thomson Majesty!

 

One shall wait, and one shall sea Darling.

the casino will be a fraction of the size it is now.

That was revealed as an "Exclusive" by me yesterday, and I am glad that You agree with me today.

 

There is also a possability of the Legend of the Seas leaving the RCCL fleet.

.

 

When the rumours of a new ship being added to the Thomson fleet started last month, I actually thought it would be the Legend joining, but instead it was her sister ship. But, it wouldn't surprise me if the rest of the vision class start migrating to Thomson in a similar fashion. The LOTS was docked alongside us in Bonaire back in December, and how magnificent it looked, even for a 20 year old ship.

 

a new build would be the thomson 'incredible';):)

Most definitely I think, at least another for 2017 would be my guess.

 

Here's what I think their plan will be. Get another couple of the Vision class ships from RCL to replace Spirit and Majesty as I doubt they will keep their relationship with Louis under this new restructure.

 

Then announce a couple of new builds which will then replace Dream and Celebration.

I do not foresee any new builds for Thomson. The vIsion class from Royal comprises of 6 ships and will migrate over, in my opinion.

I can see the same route being taken. Maybe 4 of the vision class eventually. Whether any new builds happen I'm not so sure about, but the Vision class are all very nice ships, and very welcome in my opinion.

 

At least they look like cruise ships, unlike the Spirit and Celebration which are looking very much like old battleships these days IMHO.

LOL, I know but they are looking a little old now. I think the Dream is too, but it does look more like a ship to me! :p

 

The Thomson Splendour will look like a magnificent ship, having seen her sister Legend of the Seas in December, and I for one am hoping they keep the rock climbing wall and the golf course!
