becoming Pinnacle ?

Recommended Posts

I've been told that you can use the $1200 (per person) credit before you get the certificate. Once your point total shows as 700 or over on the website, you can call C&A (or have your TA call C&A) and apply the credit to a cruise you may have booked.

However, to answer your specific question, I don't know how long it takes to get the certificate.

It's really the six month time frame that concerns me. I want to book Oasis in mid-August 2016 and use the $1200. But we will turn Pinnacle in mid-February. I want to be sure that the desired date will fall within the six month limit. My understanding is that the six months only begins on the date of certificate receipt.

Call the Diamond plus desk. You should be OK.

About how long after you have become Pinnacle do you receive your $1200 certificate for a cruise, please? I understand that you must use this within 6 months of receiving it, right?

You do not receive any type of certificate when you have earned your free cruise. Your $$$ can be used on a new booking or an existing booking. It can also be used on a cruise booked with BOGOHO. I believe that you have 6 months in which to apply the credit once you have earned your complimentary cruise. The only thing that you can not apply when booking your complimentary cruise is a balcony discount

It can be used on any cruise anywhere and it does not have to be a 7 day cruise. They will tell you what "new" ships are not eligible.

You need to call C&A D+ desk and tell them when you are ready to use the credit. You will then be connected with a Resolution Specialist who deals with the complimentary cruise for Pinnacle Club Members and they will walk you through the process.

I am currently working with Peter from the Resolutions Department and have found the process very easy. Even though we book through a TA, I talked with Peter first and then had our TA call and talk with him. All the wheels are in motion now for our complimentary cruise which we will earn on our March 30th cruise on Legend. The $$$ amount is going to be applied to an already booked cruise and will be used when final payment is due.

Yes, deal with the Resolutions Dept. I have been told by others booking their cruise....

They are flexible with the 6 months.

We had this whole year booked and into next year under their Old Rule of using the Free Cruise- for only a 7 nt Caribbean cruise.

We have already checked into that in Dec., as we are booked up and not booking more this year. I think it is the day you turned PC for the start date but not sure, if they are flexible then it is OK.

They said we would get our pins, crystal spire? and certificates in the mail. The LA said it was coming too, but they can be wrong. Up to 6 weeks, maybe? Not arrived yet and we are home 3 weeks today.

It is based on the BOGOHO pricing with no other reductions, Sr. or Res. or Military etc. discount or like Patty said, no Balcony PC/D+ discount.

So, I doubt it will be a Free in a balcony cruise...., unless you are lucky and find something out there using this 'sale pricing'.

It can not be used on anything you have booked, that has a final payment, even if you paid it off early.

Congratulations!!!!

When I questioned reaching Pinnacle status with C&A D+ phone# a free weeks back, they advised me that on the cruise we reach 700 points we would receive paperwork to fill out and a Pinnacle kit along with a certificate would be sent in the mail. I was also advise we would have 6 months from the certificate date in which to take the free cruise.

C&A D+ desk does not handle the complimentary cruises for PC Members. Once you've reached the D+ desk you have to ask to speak to one of the Pinnacle reps in Resolutions.

When we reached PC we had no paperwork to fill out. Took about 5 weeks for us to receive our Certificates and name tags. Back then we received the crystal stratum while on board which was a pain to bring home. They are now sent to your home.

We had to fill out a form with the name/spelling we wanted on the badge and our address to send things to.

We had that done prior to our leaving home because our stratum was presented to us on the ship. So, I see why a form would be necessary.

I know D+ would not handle this and was advised it is handled by resolutions. I called D+ just inquiring general information for us as to what steps we need to take once we get close to 700 points. When the time comes, I do know to reach out to resolutions, thank you :)

We made Pinnacle in February, have been off ship for more than 4 weeks and have not received the pins or the stratum. However, we have already used our free cruise certificate for a cruise we had previously booked, and the resolutions agent simply reworked the prices and applied the discount to our reservation. It isn't a "free" cruise, but we were happy with the allowance they gave us toward the cruise.

We also filled put a form onboard Quantum, which asked us what names we wanted on the pins, so I hope they arrive before our next cruise.

We called the Diamond plus desk and told them we wanted to get some info on the free cruise, they directed us to resolutions, we discussed the best way to use the certificate(we had 4 cruises booked, but only one was approaching final payment date) and within 30 minutes we had the updated invoice with the revised price. Much easier and faster than I imagined.

I owe many thanks to the Pinnacle members that helped get the "free" cruise

Particulars worked out a short time ago!

Congratulations Jim and Patti for reaching the next Pinnacle Club level.:) We were fortunate to be cruising with Jim and Patti a few years ago when they became Pinnacle Club members.

It's certainly different today when one reaches 700 points (or 1050, or 1400 etc). When we reached 100 cruises (before Pinnacle was a tier level) we called the D+ desk at C&A, and they worked out the details of what we would owe on our "complimentary" cruise.

We also have never had to book just a Caribbean cruise for our complimentary cruise. Our first complimentary cruise was on the Mexican Riviera, the second cruise was in the Norwegian Fjords, and we are not far away from our 3rd complimentary cruise, and Patti, thanks to you, I now know who to get in touch with.

Congrats on the next level, seems like yesterday you made PC!!!!

The form is also so you can put the exact Name and Spelling you want on the badge. Some don't go by their legal name etc., as it was explained to us.

Sure beats flying home with it!!! We had 2 glass blocks to carry home on our many B2Bs Jan/Feb...., we reached two Block levels, so if we had the Stratum too it would have been Heavy in the back pack!!!

We don't check them as they show up black and they often inspect the block at security.

Our problem using the PC Voucher on our booked cruises coming up, will be the lack of cabins in our category--- as they are sold out so far........closer to final payment this summer maybe some will open up.

Thanks for all the info. I had called the D desk previously and the guy I got knew NOTHING! That is why I posted here on CC.

One important thing to remember is once you've applied the dollar value of your complimentary cruise to a specific sailing date, if you have to cancel or change that sailing date you will lose that complimentary cruise value.

My husband & I will never reach that level, unless we started cruising before 2002 and more often. Do you get one free cruise once you do obtain that level. I read where one got 3? We have 109 and will need three more cruises to get to D+ at our rate of cruising.

You get one free cruise for two at 700 points, and every 350 points thereafter.

At 700 and 1050 points, you get the equivalent of a balcony stateroom. At 1400 points and after, you get the equivlent of a JS stateroom.

Have you made final payment on the booked cruises? We used our certificate on a cruise we had already booked...they just adjusted the price and sent us anew invoice.

No, it isn't time yet for our final payment. There are no cabins in our category of our booked cruise right now..... for them to price the cruise for us using the BOGOHO or whatever they do.

We will sort it out when we are ready to deal with it, as it is not refundable we have to be Sure we are going on that cruise, or any cruises, before we call them.

Many congratulations to you for reaching the next level! We are thrilled to be D+ but I don't know if we will ever make it to Pinnacle.

I would certainly hope that you would be catered to and not have a time restriction to adhere to! After all, you must be very "loyal to Royal.":)
